Herblore Players, Go on Strike?

Featured Replies

"Players felt they had to train a skill to compete with those who DO train, so we nerfed it..."

For those who initially saw the quote above, it's really:

"players felt they had to increase their Herblore level to be able to make these potions, before they could effectively fight players of a similar combat level to themselves".

Sorry about the getting caught up in this confusion. Word gets passed around, people gossip, and you read things that you need to validate for yourself. :wall:

I am dead f'in serious. I just read a quote from the update that Paul himself wrote:

"Players felt they had to train a skill to compete with those who DO train, so we nerfed it..."

Just keep reading that over and over again, and really read it. This isn't about the potions anymore. It's the way Jagex handles their complaints, and just how much they cater to lower levels. For those whiny lower levels, and lower pkers, don't sell them potions. Let them rocket in the GE, and let them either make them themselves, or let them pay out of their [wagon] for them.

And before someone says I'm a biased skiller... I'm level 84 combat, with under 1300 total (and 60 herblore). To see Jagex treat their high level players like this, is just beyond words me thinks.

I've already begun stocking up my own Herblore supplies. More out of necessity than protest, but hey, it works the same way.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Well when that guy lost 300M to a stupid glitch Jagex didn't catch, the mod he talked to basically called him a liar and was surprisingly very rude. When said mod later confirmed that the player did indeed lose 300M to the glitch he apologised and then said something along the lines of you should feel lucky because we don't give out apologies often.

You just have to remember you're nothing more than $5 a month to Jagex.

I heard that people were getting like one hit. Glad they changed it. This isn't needed. If jagex wants to implement higher hits they should consider releasing a 'second hp' stat of some sort or raise the current hp lvls.

Overpowered weapons became a problem a long time ago. Pkers have no problems with dragon claws, godswords, or dark bows, but now that gaining an advantage requires a skill, all hell breaks loose. As far that issue goes, either they need some type of damage decreasing equipment, damage decreasing skill (because clearly defense does not this), or like you said, a second HP stat would be nice. But I guarantee that if released, whiny lower levels and whiny pkers will complain yet again. But forget about the overpowered issue and again...

This update wasn't about implementing higher hits. It was about giving high levels an advantage, which they rightfully deserve.

Damn, i was already mad at Jagex's for a while, but when i read this, my respect for them died >.>

Let's make items that cost money unable to be used in PVP too, they give advantages and no combat levels!

Going on strike isn't the answer, mainly because it'll be completely ineffective. Just enjoy the game rather than worrying about petty external things.

I find it a good thing that such an expensive and pointless skill actually has a reason to be trained now - potions should've been untradeable in the first place imo.

I have to agree with plug though.

It isnt a big deal.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

So where did u find that quote? This statment is crazy, i can see a buncha fat 40 year old virgins walking around all day doing nothing but playing games, thats how terrible there customer service and stuff is..

Actually never mind the quote, it wasn't as bad as initially. Someone rephrased it and passed it along. I tried to find the quote myself, which is really:

"players felt they had to increase their Herblore level to be able to make these potions, before they could effectively fight players of a similar combat level to themselves".

Sorry about misleading some who read the initial one.

I remember the wild strikes and I remember one thing about them, they didn't do anything but mute quite a few people.

Going on an ingame strike has always seemed like a lame way to get to Jagex. As stated, strikes are never the answer and are just time wasters you could be spending getting your herblore level up.

Exactly. Pretty soon it'd be only people with high herblore pking = less people out. Stop complaining about it you can still have a lot of fun with this on pvm. It's quite ridiculous on even to why they thought of this. My point is we have enough over powered weapons why increase the power, without implementing such as a 2nd hp. Did people complain about people pking with higher summon? So obviously the second hp stat would affect cmb so I don't see why people would complain.

No. These were for high levels, if you don't like it, don't PVP. Another Jagex failure. I've been around more than 5 years, and week after week I want to come back to RS less.

I'm sure thats exactly what would happen my friend. People without high herblore wouldn't pvp. Have fun facing people who rush each other hoping for one hits and then running away.

There was still no reason to take them out of safe minigames.

No by all means train herblore. But whenever that level 60 pker asks you to sell them super sets, turn your back.
