F2P Skill Training

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody. I've recently set myself a goal for all F2P stats 70+, and I want to know what is the most effective way of training each skill, without using much money. Here are my methods for each:

-Melee: Training on Flesh Crawlers, wearing Full Rune.

-Ranged: Training on Minotaurs, full d'hide, and picking up the iron arrows they drop for extra ammo.

-Magic: Fists of Guthix, or superheating + mining coal method.

-Prayer: Chaos Temple bones.

-Crafting: Buying hard leather and making them into hard leather bodies.

-Runecrafting: Crafting earth runes with earth gloves and Explorer's Ring 3.

-Mining: Powermining iron, or the superheating + mining coal method.

-Smithing: Buying iron/coal and smelting in Al Kharid, or the superheating + mining coal method.

-Fishing: Fly fishing Trout/Salmon in Lumbridge River.

-Cooking: Anything I catch while fishing.

-Woodcutting: Willow trees, I drop the logs. That or oaks near Draynor bank for money.

-Firemaking: Willow logs, in Fists of Guthix lobby.

-Hitpoints: Melee, Ranged, and Magic.

Should I keep these methods, or are there better ones? Remember, I want methods that does not make me lose a lot of cash, I'm a poor man.

-Melee: Training on Flesh Crawlers, wearing Full Rune.

-Ranged: Training on Minotaurs, full d'hide, and picking up the iron arrows they drop for extra ammo.

Tank flesh crawlers or giant spiders

-Magic: Fists of Guthix, or superheating + mining coal method.

Just buy ores to superheat

-Prayer: Chaos Temple bones.

I guess...

-Crafting: Buying hard leather and making them into hard leather bodies.

-Ranged: Training on Minotaurs, full d'hide, and picking up the iron arrows they drop for extra ammo.

Tank flesh crawlers or giant spiders

I guess I'll try that, I haven't tried it before.

-Magic: Fists of Guthix, or superheating + mining coal method.

Just buy ores to superheat

Does this lose profit?

-Prayer: Chaos Temple bones.

I guess...

-Smithing: Buying iron/coal and smelting in Al Kharid, or the superheating + mining coal method.

Superheat

See Magic.

-Firemaking: Willow logs, in Fists of Guthix lobby.

Buy maples

Is the higher cost (from 8 to 36) worth the extra exp?

Should I keep these methods, or are there better ones? Remember, I want methods that does not make me lose a lot of cash, I'm a poor man.

Comments/questions in bold. Thanks for telling me some other methods btw.

Maples are DEFINITELY worth the cost. To level 99, you pay 3m more to save about 20-30 hours or so. Plus, it's not like it's an hour of cooking or something, it's an hour of FIREMAKING [/personal fear]

Superheating iron is the fastest you can get in f2p, at ~90-100k xp/hr but at a ~200k/hr loss. Mith is slower (55-60k xp/hr) but typically breaks even.

Alternatively, you can alch.

id go for giant spiders for melee as you can semi-afk.

for firemaking id also buy maples, because for 70 itll cost you 100k-200k.

for prayer it would take a while so i would rather do something to save up money, so i could be the bbones (its about 4m i think. i am really not sure though).

then for magic id take superheating because f.o.g takes a really long time. or id high alch when i'd get high enough.

for crafting you could make gold amulets from gold bars, as they make a lot of profit.

other than that your methods are good.

Damn, I bought 15k willows since they only cost 125k from 70-80... Oh well I'll do maples 80-99.

I'll superheat mith then (I hate wasting money).

Thanks for telling me about the gold amulets! I never knew Crafting can make a profit! :D

And, no I won't train on giant spiders, they eat up too much of my food.

And HELL NO I won't go buy big bones. :wall:

For F2P ranging, unless you're really stingy with your money, there's no reason for you to be killing minotaurs for their arrows. A better option would be ranging moss giants on Crandor. You will get slightly less xp per hour due to their higher defense, but the drops are far superior to those of minotaurs; part of the profit can go toward buying the arrows you will use. Consider investing in a few thousand steel arrows for the higher damage rate. Since there are an abundance of safespots on the island (the most popular is the one near the south mining rocks), you can stay for as long as your arrows last. They do drop alchables, so bring a fire staff and some nature runes.

Plus, you always get big bones, which is a lot better for prayer training than running around the chaos temple.

I don't think I will be training on Moss Giants. As zaaps1 suggested to me, the bronze arrow flesh crawler tanking training is better and they don't even cost that much.

Thanks for your suggestion though.

Another option for rcing after level 50 try GoP.

If you already have the tokens for earth gloves then just go with that.

GoP is just a good change of pace, albeit a lot slower rc xp, but you can make a lot of money through the token-talisman; which you can use to speed up some other skill.

For woodcutting and firemaking, if you're training on willows already, you might consider burning them instead of dropping them. It's more efficient, and you still get to avoid the crowded Draynor willows.

I'd recommend training on some kind of giant, rather than training your combat and prayer seperate (It won't get you to 99 prayer, but it will take away a lot of the boring-ness). You might use a little bit of food, but I would see it as better, in the long run. Superheating got made faster, recently, and superheating iron can be up to 130k magic exp per hour, and I imagine alch-superheating would be faster, too. Superheating mithril is an extremely good option, as well.

I want to try GOP again, but I always get paired with crap players.

Oh well, 50/50-ing is my only choice for GOP then. Thanks for the suggestion!
