Is Saradomin Sword worth 70 attack?

Well im 60 attack at the moment, and was intending to keep it that way as i was hoping to get max strength with 60 attack, 70 defence, 70 pray...

I've done every quest giving attack experience (including knights training waves) so im not a 'failed' 60 attack account, so to speak...

However, training is incredibly dull and slow and i think eventually i'll end up getting 70 attack on the account, but the question is;

 

Is SS actually that much better than Scimi/Defender?

Is Dharoks at ape atoll still a decent method to train strength?

 

Or, the other possible option is to get 70 pray and use Scimi/defender at locations using Piety. I have full void melee, but i dont think even with scimi/defender and piety i'd do that great at places like Monkey Guards...

A sara sword is good, but not worth 70 attack or the price. If you are going to get 70 attack, get it for a whip. Half the price and just as good. Sara sword is a waste unless you get a free or cheap 24/hr lend for some strength training. Other than that, i don't suggest one.

Yes, but in the first post, it says i am a 70 defence pure... Whip has little use for me until/if i decide to train attack past 70, which wont be for a while.

 

Im kinda winging towards just getting 70 attack and then seeing if ss/dharoks is worth it... To be honest, the price of SS has been relatively stable of the last month or so, so its not going to cost me a huge amount to try it out.

Saradomin Sword is better than the Scim/Defender combo, but costs like 9.8m.

 

If you have the money for it, by all means buy it. If not, stick to the Scim/Defender combo until you can afford one.

A Sarasword is actually worse in slash bonus compared to a dragon scimitar + rune defender.

But a whip would be worth it, and because ur a 70 def pure you would be killing high levels eventually and might as well train atk past 70.

Personally sara sword = WIN

 

Particualrly in pvp minigames (eg cwars) and against many monsters I have faired a HELL of alot better and got much quicker kills with it compared to the whip.

 

With whip duking it out with someone of similar level, my high(ish) def meant I survived a fair while but I did sod all damage.

With sara sword same situation I managed to duke it out through melee protect prayer and a full load of bandages (cwars) but still get the kill and fairly quickly
