Karil's is hardly better than black d'hide, and magic defense doesn't help too much against corp. I use void in 6 man teams, and I do fine. Void has similar mage defense to black d'hide, but it gives more attack and strength. Just make sure you are able to get back in under 2 minutes just in case you do die though, because losing void is a pretty big risk to many. I've died a few times, but I just grab a few sara brews and a super energy potion and manage to get my void and berserker ring before they dissappear. So, from my experience, void works better than karils or black d'hide.
