Simply because, when developers develop for, example, Playstation 2 or PC, it's better for Playstation 2. When developers go and create a game, they obviously need to know what the capabilities are of the system they are developing for (graphical prowess, sound, controls). With every Playstation 2, the system is precisely, exactly the same. This is far from the truth when it comes to PCs.

If I'm going to spend money on a console, I'd rather go for the first Xbox. Xbox 360 doesn't really interest me :? First Xbox is what? 170 bucks? I'd rather have that than waste $600 when I can fully buy a new computer with that.

Yeah $600 will get you a great computer :roll:. This is exactly why I enjoy console gaming and not computer gaming. I made a bad decision about 4 years ago and bought myself a comp. It cost $850 which was a lot for a 13-14 year old and I got totally ripped. Yes, it was my fault, but even 6 months later I couldn't play half the games on the market. 4 years later and I can still play ever ps2 game I have. I'd say your $600 on a computer is a major waste.

The Xbox 360 does NOT cost $600. You can buy the core system for $300 or the premium for $400. So you guys can stop with the $600 rubbish. Anything after spending the 400/300 = whatever you also have to pay for your comp to do gaming.

Scenario: Buy a new console every 4-5 years for $300 - $400. Upgrade my computer's ram ever 1.5 - 2 years and then every 2 - 3 years (5 total following original purchase) buy a new computer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hrmm which one saves me a lot more money and still gives the same amount of satisfaction. Console wins in the total utility department.

I'm waiting for Ninja Gaiden 2 before I buy a 360. The only game that looks good at this point is Dead or Alive 4.

Btw, if you plan on playing Xbox games on the 360 don't get the core system. It won't be backwards compatible. Heck, don't even buy the core, it's just microsoft's excuse at making that $300 window that they promised at E3 at launch.

Yea, but have you seen the movies for it? The screens are way easier to make look good. When you watch the movies, there are hardly stellar, and can't even compare to the screens. That's how it always has been. High def teaser screens and E3 vids, then dissappointing when the game actually comes out and you are actually playing it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I was talking about in-game video. I know the difference between a CGI video and in-game footage, I wouldn't use CGI as an example of power since all the work is done before you view the video leaving my argument useless.
