Steel dragons

Today I got 53 steel dragons as a slayer task. The problem is that I've never ever killed a single metal dragon except the one required for the karmaja diary. So, how should I do it? Melee, range or mage? Pray or not? What should I have in my inventory? Any help at all is welcome. My stats are in my signature.

At your level I would mage them from a distance with antifire potions and you should be fine. Slow, but decent mage XP. Take with food just in case, and be careful. :)

I don't see why you shouldn't melee them, if you prefer it. You should probably check out a guide, I'm sure there are lots in the AOW and guide forums. Wear proselyte or similar armour, with a good prayer boost, as wel as an antifire shield of course. Whatever weapon you want to use will work. Anti fire potions are a good to use, but definitely not a must. Bring prayer pots and pray against melee. Bring sharks (unless you have antifire pots as well) because some fire will still hit you. Otherwise, just hack away, keep up your prayer and health. A beast of burdern or a bunyip wouldn't be a bad thing.

 

I think I covered everything.. I likely missed something hugely important though, so definitely look for a guide. Don't forget to bring a [disposable] axe and gp so you can get to the dragons.

Range is probably your cheapest option. Use broad bolts and a rune c-bow with your accumulator. You'll need antifire pots too.

 

Melee and mage will be more expensive, since for melee you have to use p pots, and the cost of runes for magic can be kind of high.

 

If you mage, the cheapest way to do it is chaos gauntlets + fire bolt.

 

The good thing about mage/range is that as long as you stay a few steps away, the dragons will only use their firebreath on you. So as long as you have an antifire shield and pots, you won't get hit at all.

Melee is the best. Yes, it may "cost more" because you use prayer potions, but you will kill them far faster, saving you time.

 

Personally, though, I'd just block the damned things. :mellow: They're the worst task in the game.

With your skills, yes. With his skills, doubtful.

 

The reason I recommend maging here is that maging is generally going to cost you money one way or another. This is a good way to "kill two birds with one stone", so to speak.

I bring 4 super str, 4 super attack. And 4 anti fire potions. All 4 doses. And 10 pray pots 4 doses.

 

Also I bring 1 tuna potatoe. Just in case. And a BOB. Too take loot back with me. And a teli tab.

I wear prossy. Fury, berserker. Anti fire shield. And combat braclet. To get updates. Grab the axe from the bar. Then drop it. 875 gold.

 

 

And pray and whack. Keep stats up and you should be ok. I just killed 42 and came back with potions. To be safe. Add 1 more anti-fire for a total of five. I see no problems with this line up.

If you're on task Black Mask/Slayer helm would be better. I suggest you just skip or block them. Task take to long and they aren't really worth it.

Yes slayer helm black mask. I for got because I do not have one lol. Just did buy the black mask. 3 more task then adding to yhr helm.
