rabelj
Hey! - Well i have amd x2 +6000 with 4gig of ram and java 6 and windows 7 64bit. But i get 50 prcent of CPU usage.(and 60 c degrees) When I"m playing runescape.-How do i get lower CPU usage? -One more question. I forgot my RS user name and I have only my email. Is it posible to get my user name back?

Makoto_the_Phoenix
Welcome to TIF! @Rainy Day: You move fast. We need to put a bell on you so I can wait to post long, detailed posts and not get an IPB error. :P --- It's likely that there are more applications than just RS running in the background. 60C is very, very high for the processor's thermal (I believe it's max is maybe a few degrees more than that). In this case, then either your processor's cooling system (fan + thermal paste) aren't probably assembled, and you'd want to get that fixed right away. If that CPU went over 63C then all bets are off as to if it'll work again or not. Also, contributing to the immense heat, it's likely that your case has accrued several layers of dust. Get some canned air (NOT a vacuum) and blow the air out. Next, Java is a bit of a CPU hog, and it's not uncommon to see it using between 45 and 80% of the processor for CPU-intensive applets, RS being one of them. Admittedly it's high, but since you have a decent dual core processor, it's not much to worry about. Lastly, I think it's impossible to recover an account unless you remembered the username. Not even knowing the e-mail would help that. Sorry. rabelj
Well i know that my AMD is runing hot I even add 2 case fans and i have 2 year garancy(I have even been at their service and they said that 60c is normal when cpu is working hard) . But still i run crysis on 58c so I was a litle bit woried for RS runing hot. Tnx, for your quick and long answer.

You have nothing to worry about the temperatures unless you get much higher then that (around 80 and I would worry) otherwise java is a resource hog as otherwise stated. bored321
Pretty much everything covered in the above posts, although the max temp for that cpu is around 80C so its not going to die on you, but anything between 60-75C should be seriously looked at. Try getting an air duster and giving the cpu heatsink and case a good clean. If that don't work next step would be replacing stock fans and maybe a larger non-stock heatsink. Ideal would be less than 50C. As for load 50% on dual core is nothing to worry about, although recently I have noticed an increase in CPU use from the latest Java while playing RS. It maybe possible to get the username for the account as long as the email address is registered to that account. You will have to contact them somehow, i have heard a few people managing to get Jagex to perform a search based on the data they gave them. So its worth a shot. Makoto_the_Phoenix
60 degrees celcius isn't that high for a x2 6000. If it's a tower processor, which I highly suspect it is, then anything > 55C is cause for concern. Besides, according to AMD, the maximum thermal for that processor is slated to be 63C. So yeah. I'd worry a bit. So long as his cooling fan gets seated again properly (I really think that's what's causing it), then it'll be alright. Tim
If you've only just come back, you wont be able to recover it with an email since you need to know the account name for starters AND register the email with it, which wasn't avaliable until a few months ago so unless you did it then, you both shouldn't have forgotten it and (if you weren't around) you cant. Basically you'll have to make a new account. Popoto.~<
bored321
the maximum thermal for that processor is slated to be 63C Not necessary, it depends on which model it is. The newer (brisbane) model (in the 6000+ range) will take 78C. Easy way to check is if its 3000Mhz or 3100 MHz the latter being the newer model. Thanks Gradeskip93 for my awesome sig! Pie Naple
My Q6600 running at 3,1ghz each core caps at about 70C when playing intensive games such as crysis and MW2, and it's still working perfectly after 2 years. Oh and i also have the stock CPU cooler and 1 more 120mm fan on the back, that's it. Now about your rs account. Have you tried going to the account recovery thing and see if it's possible to recover acc name?

Merre
Ok, won't respond to the question about the rs account recovery but I got some small advice to give about the temp of your processor.I got a collegue who also suffers fast heatening of his pc when gaming.I got two pieces of advice that are free: never place your pc next to the heating of your room and leave some space between the backside of your tower and the wall so the air can circulate propperly. You could also open the case a few centimeters and let a ventilator blow fresh air in it. That way dust can't stick into your case and it gets fresher air than the air in the room where the pc is placed. If the aid above doesn't help there are special gaming cases available. I got one and it cost me about 90.It has 4 vents (and also some stupid changing leds color things they call case-tuning, but that's silly ;)) and my pc feels cold when I put my hand on top of it... I hope this helps 2016 goals: all skills +30mil xp - Completed this goal 11th December 2016 2017 goals: get at least 3 more master capes (start xp: invention done@21st Jan, mining done@2nd April & ranged 76/104mil done@June 20th) & all skills +40mil xp (done 24th August)
rabelj
Well tnx for all the help (Realy. Usualy i dont get so many and fast replies on other forums) -I have 1 more question. I read my CPU temperature from Everest. If CPU is working hard i usualy get processor 55, core1 60 and core 2 62. I want to ask if AMD meant max temp. 63c for processor or cores?
