October 28, 200520 yr Alright well my dad got a toshiba tecra 730xcdt for free from work like 6/7 years ago. It has worked fine up until about 2003. the keyboard malfunctioned, who knows why. all i know is that the laptop is now mine to use anywhere i want, the only problem is the "a, z, q, 1, tab, backspace, number pad" key do not work whatsoever. So, when i want to type an essay up, or use instant messenger, i have to connect a huge keyboard to the thing so i can use it. I would rather be able to use the regular default keyboard, so my question to you is this. is there any possible way to fix it? PLease note we have already tried taking the keyboard out of our other one and putting it in the broken one, which broke that comp too. So we're not risking takign out the keyboard. THANKS :) My old signature had to do with PKing the classic way.Unfortunately, that is no more.

October 29, 200520 yr When my laptop keyboard has a few keys not working I turn it upside and bang it a few times to knock out any dirt that might be jamming the keys below. If you can't fix your problem your best bet is to buy a PC keyboard and plug it in the back because buying a new laptop would cost more than a keyboard.
October 29, 200520 yr Author mementh: the reason i want it fixed is because we dont want to buy a new laptop, lol. andy: yes already done all of that. My old signature had to do with PKing the classic way.Unfortunately, that is no more.
October 30, 200520 yr could you not just get a decent, more compact keyboard to go with the laptop? i have a laptop and always use an attached keyboard so i dont get RSI, as most laptops give u that if u type for too long!
October 30, 200520 yr There is also the possiblitlity that you have set up the languages wrong or changed the settings accidently and are using a different keyboard set-up. Have you checked your not using a different set-up or something? "Charm is a way of getting the answer 'yes' without asking a question."
