  2. I'm not great with HiJack this, so I can't answer your problem, but if you are willing to spend money and are worried, the best really is ZoneAlarm (not the free version - most of the others). It will auto-start when windows runs and is very hard to stop unless the user absolutely agrees. It can detect programs attempting to do things like block the task manager, run other programs, change the registry, duplicate itself, close programs, set itself to auto-run and much more. It will then pop-up a confirmation dialouge where you can choose whether you want to allow it. If you choose no, I can almost guaratee it will stop whatever is causing the problem. Its great.
  3. Have you got a firewall activated? Maybe you have a router that can act as one? If so, I would advise shutting it down temporarily and seeing if that helps (remember to restart it when you've done!). If you can't shut down a router, unplug the computer from the router and plug it in directly. If your laptop is wireless, try getting a cable and plugging it in directly for it a bit.
  4. Nice guide :). I always get distracted, so I'm only level 21 (scarecrows soon!) and this guide might help. Thanks :).
  5. It can do more stuff, basically. Technically, you will find Firefox is better. It has more security, it is mroe compatible, is has useful features like tabbed browsing and a built in pop-up blocker and it is less spyware prone. In general, most people will also say it is better - the millions of users that have downloaded it help show that. The only reason, in my opinion, that IE is more widely used is because it is built into all Windows PCs.
  6. There is also the possiblitlity that you have set up the languages wrong or changed the settings accidently and are using a different keyboard set-up. Have you checked your not using a different set-up or something?
  7. You sure its not user error or something? It never happens to me, and probably millions of other Firefox users, yet it happens for you at the Internet Cafe and you home PC (I'm not trying to offend you if it sounds like that). Are you accidently hitting the arrows in your typing posture or something like that?
