DIY character

hi,

recently i made a DIY character completey from scratch, got basic levels such as farming / thieving and slowly gaining a small bank.

im struggling with what to do though, main issue is magic, cant raise it high since i have barely any runes and im struggle to find law runes. Quests are hard since i cant buy the items needed, such as fremmy trails i need a shark (76 fishing).

combat is only 22 atm ( should i focus on that), slayers hard with lack of teleports.

Justing wondering if you can give me any advice you can shed on where to go next.

Thanks Tom

Good luck, DIY's can be very hard. You can check tipit's item guide, it shows where you can buy some items, just remember to collect every drop you get, you may need it sometime.

It's great you know what you're talking about rustiod. Everything you've said is 100% accurate a true.

That being said...your a [bleep]ing [bleep] douchebag, and none of your advice will ever (or should ever) be taken seriously because of it.

disregard good advice because the giver is a douche

THAT MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON

The most important thing right now is to set small goals. If you want to do quests, focus on the requirements for one quest at a time, so you don't feel so overwhelmed. For magic, what I did when I was low-level was make air and mind runes and cast strike spells on imps and goblins. That was years ago, though, so there might be better methods now (not to mention I didn't know what I was doing half the time back then). Also, don't forget places where you can get free magic exp, like the circus and FoG.

Oftentimes there are sideways methods of obtaining items like sharks. For example, they can be looted from the chest in Ardougne Castle with 72 thieving and they're occasionally dropped by mogres.

Like troacctid said, look for those little boosts. Combat can supply things for other skills such as cooking and smithing which might not be readily obtanable for you at the present time, or they might just prove to be a nice little boost to your current supply. If you attempt to find these little shortcuts you can stockpile much larger quantities of raw goods which you can then use to train cooking, smithing, firemaking, etc.

As for runecrafting, simply mine rune essence, make into runes and train mage. Combat, train your smithing so you can make better armour, or as mentioned before find monsters which drop rune armour/non-smithable armour, the list could go on. As you continue to train, you will find different methods of producing or gathering goods and supplies. Sometimes it is better to find shortcuts than to just train, train, train until you get X amount of goods.

Wish you the best of luck with your DIY character :)
