A christmas signature challenge. 2 in 1!?!?

Photo of the Month 7 - Christmas

 

Christmas. It means something to us all, for us down-under Christmas means sun and sand, with pohutakawa trees in full bloom (Wongtong and Ouchy will know what i'm talking about), maybe for your in Australia it is kangaroos hopping around with santa hats. Christmas up north, with snow instead of sun, and days spent inside with a cup of eggnog. Whatever it is, Christmas means something to us all, Northern or Southern hemisphere, Christian or not. I'm sure even sometimes Jewish people celebrated Christmas, or at least wished they could.

 

So fire up your cameras, brace for the sun (or snow) and get ready for the Christmas Photo BONANZA!!!

 

There are two sections:

 

Non-Edited

Edited (Photo-Manipulation)

 

That means something Manipulated or Not.

 

Non-Manipulation = Photographs taken with a film or a digital camera featuring a minimal amount of colour and exposure adjustment.

Manipulation = Photo manipulations are images that have been composed of two or more photographic elements to create something new.

 

The Rules:

 

1. Everything has too be your own. That means any photos, manipulated or not, have to be yours.

2. When you submit a photo, make sure you say what category it is in, and pm to me. No anonymity here sorry.

3. No more than one photo is too be submitted for each category.

4. Have fun.

 

How to Vote:

 

Basically you can vote twice, in the sections Edited and Unedited.

You have to use this form or your vote won't be counted (makes wongtong's job easier).

Deadline: 24th December - Voting will go on for five days, then the comp will start again on the 5th For next theme, it will be christmas, so no special theme choosing.

Signature Art

 

That's right kids. With this Photo of the Month, something very special and one-off is happening. A signature competition is running ALONGSIDE THE PHOTO COMPETITION!! The one requirement is that it needs an element of the photo you enter. Could be a texture, even a theme. Anything is allowed, and it is open for interpretation. Vert, smudge, anything.

 

So: Christmas Theme, with an element of a photo you enter.

And me! Though we don't have many pohutukawa tree's in the South Island...

 

But sounds good, looking foward to what people come up with, particularly those in the Southern Hemisphere.

Just because someone wins a Christmas photo competition doesn't mean they should get TIF photographer of the year, if you want to do that, look at all the topics and calculate who won the most POTM's.

I want to enter, but I'm having a hard time coming up with something that isn't cliched. If I get something then I'll enter.

I'll enter something - it's just we have no decorations/tree up at the moment and that's what i'd like to photo.
