Irons or Steels

Featured Replies

I am ranging metal dragons. Which ones are better for profit? I am killing them at the fortress so crowding is not an issue. Ranged level is currently 89. Gear:

Head - Archer helm

Neck - Fury

Torso and legs - black d'hide

Cape - Ava's accumulator

Weapon - Rune Crossbow

Ammo - Broad bolts

Boots - snakeskin

Ring - wealth

Hmm.

I, Myself would say steels. They have a higher drop rate of skirts and platelegs.

But i don't have a huge experience with them.

Hexiled Razz. Player since March 8th, 2005.

Iron dragons, unless you want to take range potions.

Better prayer exp from Irons as well.

Steel have far superior drops to Iron : Rune Bar when the iron will drop 2 Addy ones, Rune items when Iron drag will drop an addy item (axe, mace or so) and Steel drop more 'junk' like javelins.

Steel ones are also a lot harder to kill with def i think same as a Mith drag or close (talking about melee here)... the bulk of the cash unless lucky and get a drag drop will come from bones.

I'd say range the Iron ones and if a Steel one attacks you or gets in way kill it too. Faster kills on Iron while still chance to be lucky ;-)
