Hiya guys,

I need a good spot to train my combat skills:

tha_toweler.png

This is what I'm trying to get:

70 Strength

70 Defence

Optional:

70 Hitpoints

My gear:

Berserker helmet

Amulet of power

Whip

Rune platebody

Rune platelegs

Rune boots

Rune Kite

Obsidian cape

I am p2p but i don't have money for other armour right now...

I just want good xp. I dont really care about money. If i really need i can get some money fast but I'm more in the mood for some monster slaying.

So does anyone have a good suggestion for me?

Cya!

I always recommend training combat with slayer, since it's kind of a waste of exp if you don't.

However, if you don't want to do that, you could try shadow warriors in legends guild basement. I trained my skills to 70 there a few years ago. I'm not sure if they're still one of the best training methods at those levels, but they're still going to be pretty decent.

Yeah, same here but sadly 45 defence wont let me train slayer efficiently, so I have to use range...

Try spiders in Stronghold of Security their good and aggressive.

Yeah kinda sounds good Zombie.

I will do the quest for Neitznot helm tomorrow and i will also get the dragon boots.

before you begin training take note of these essenial items:

neitznot helm (quest and 60k?)

dragon boots

amulet of glory (60k?)

rune defender (free)

fighter torso (free)

Edited for accuracy. The torso is really bad. Get a barrows chest, they really aren't that expensive. I'd get barrows legs too. They're pretty cheap but effective.

Yes barrows for combat training, and I'm sorry I have no idea what l2p is, but nice try on the flame. I did realize that his defense was only 68, but it's still better to stick with rune plate for those 2 levels rather than going to get the torso, which isn't worth it.

Where have you heard that it isn't worth it? it has the same defence bonus as a rune plate with a strength bonus, and requires little effort to obtain it.

and no, no-one uses barrows armour for combat training.

From everyone who answers the fighter torso questions in the past months. And oh really? I see everyone using it if they aren't using bandos.

cool, nice cape

Good job posting soley to flame. The fact of the matter is, in the hours it takes you to get the torso, you can get a nice amount of xp, and in his case, aquire barrows for better training. If he already has it, then sure, yeah use it. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

If he enjoys barbarian assault, there's nothing wrong with it. To me, if he enjoyed it, he'd already have it. So just use rune plate instead of going getting the torso. You're actually saying it's better, so you're defeating your own point as well. I'm going to leave with this final point: If you enjoy barbarian assault/you have the torso, feel free to get it, but it won't help really, so if you don't want to, don't get it. Now that being said, feel free to flame me again since that's all you seem to do in your posts.

Torso is not worth the time, you would be better off spending that time training than squandering it on a +4 strength bonus. Bandos, barrows, proselyte, are all better depending on situation.

Why is torso bad? Because once you spend the time on getting it, you can't get it back. At least you can resell bandos.

Let's bring some logic into this debate:

Say that the OP can get around 40k xp per hour without the torso, and 45k with it. It will take 9.35 hours to get the levels without the torso, and 8.31 hours to get it with the torso. What this means is that the OP should only go for the torso if he knows he can get it in less than an hour. And even if the hypothetical xp rates are wrong, it would still be inefficient to get the torso.

So, unless you can get the torso in less than an hour, it is simply not worth it.
