Dark Beast Task

Recommended Posts

I've just been assigned Dark Beasts by Kuradel for the first time, what strategy should I use to kill them as I've never fought them before.

My stats: 99 att/def/HP, 97 str, 78 prayer, 73 summoning.

First question is where, and thats up to debate. If you have 85 mining, I'd still use the Light Temple. Sure, the ferocious ring won't work there, but the elf tele gives you super fast access and the spawning runite ore really makes the trips much more profitable. If not, use Kuradel's dungeon.

As for gear, there are plenty of options. Lots of people use a combo of eating and prayer to kill dark beasts, but as a lazier folk I just use prayer and heal with SGS specs. If you have the SGS, this is a wonderful task to use it. If not, that's okay as well. Be sure to bring your Falador shield; whether you use a Godsword or not the Fally shield gives you a free prayer restore. If you -aren't- using a Godsword, it has the highest prayer boost in shield form this side of blessed sigil shields.

As a prayer man, I wear typical prayer gear: proselyte top and bottom with skill cape and fury, d boots and slayer helm with barrow gloves and ring of wealth (which you may swap with a combat ring or fero ring, per preference). If you're going to hyridize eating to save money, maybe bring some barrows top/bottom to extend the non-prayer segments. At the risk of being obvious, if you plan to mine runite, bring a pickaxe!

Inventory is simple; I have slayer ring in inventory to check progress, 7 or 8 four dose prayer potions, 2 super attack and 2 super strength pots. You may want some alch runes because they drop plenty of runite stuff, but I usually don't bother. They also drop plenty of blue charms, ranarrs, big gold stacks, and of course the elusive Dark Bow.

Good luck!

Since the topic starter has no 85 mining, Kuradals dungeon is probably best. Use the ferocious rinf for that extra edge, and pray them using the gear described.

To save prayer (if you have no SGS) bring an EE to heal some HP when you tank them for a while. Consider bringing the holy wrench from the "Rum deal" quest to maximise the use of prayer potions.

also, you can use zamorak brews instead of prayer potions, the are cheaper.
