December 28, 200916 yr The point of junk is that every tradable item has a GE value, regardless of how useless it is. So let's say you just got a whole bunch of cooking done and you have lots of burnt fish. Those burnt fish maybe have a value of 1 gp. Useless, right? But because they have no value, you can add them onto your end of the trade to effectively raise the other guy's trade limit and allow him to pay you more for your items, and you won't be giving up much to do it. The problem is that once you start to go out of your way to get junk items, they lose their value, because you might as well go get real gp with your time. Actually creating junk like unstrung longbows for the purpose of using it in junk trades is a colossal waste of time. The only effective way of getting junk is either obtaining it by accident as a byproduct of skill training--e.g. unstrung maple longbows from training fletching to 70--or getting it from somebody else in a junk trade. So if you want junk, do a junk trade to buy something that's underpriced in the GE, and be content in the knowledge that you'll be able to sell the junk right back afterwards. Maple long unstrungs are no junk.Maple logs are 29-30 gp each atm, buuuuut maple long (u) are 71 or something. Agreed it will decrease in value a bit if you sell more, but at a certain point they won't lower anymore.Do you call this junk? If you sell it to the general store you actually get the money you received in "junk"...So in fact you're just adding money yerself to the deal. I never understood the point of this junk idea. 2016 goals: all skills +30mil xp - Completed this goal 11th December 2016 2017 goals: get at least 3 more master capes (start xp: invention done@21st Jan, mining done@2nd April & ranged 76/104mil done@June 20th) & all skills +40mil xp (done 24th August)
