Superheating vs. High Alching

I'm interested in a higher mage level, so i'd like to know what's better? Alching is more afk-able and easier than superheating, but loses money and is not that fast (roughly 70-80k/hr i think), and superheating is nice because it's slightly faster...along with very decent smithing exp....however requires much more attention than alching. What is better? All opinions are nice =]

And at higher lvls (lvl 80 & lvl 86)

is stunning the best way using sc robes? (i've heard its about 200k/hr)

is plank make another good way to train mage?

ty

I'm also on this problem, going from 95-99 mage. I've recently calculated I'm losing only 64gp per superheat (iron ore), which I believe in combination with the 12.5 smithing experience you're gaining, is a much better alternative to high alching. In comparison, if you alch the typical yew long method you're losing 172gp and only gaining 12 extra magic xp per cast. However superheating is a bit more tedious with the banking, it's all about personal preference.

As a side note if you're really dedicated you can superheat much faster than you can high alch

Superheating is almost twice as fast as alching in terms of xp gain rate. This alone makes it superior, and the smithing xp you also get is a bonus. The only ores that are worth considering are iron and gold, and I would recommend the latter (as long as you have the goldsmith gloves).
