snick5
I am not going for 99 yet. I am heading for 79 and I have the fire ring. I also hate fire making, so what is the BEST way to get there. I can't believe that the best way is still with the ring of fire, load up 27 logs and a tinder box. Find a place close to a bank start burning. I don't have 76 summoning for that help. What do ya'll think. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Snick5
Speedyshel
I don't think the Pyrelord is any faster. It's slightly slower but grants extra xp, so I think it's about the same. I might be wrong though. I personally did maples how you mentioned...27 logs and a tindy. That would be my suggestion. - Speedyshel Website Updates and Corrections *..It is better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you're not..*
angel13
Light your fires at fally east bank, use maples and I would suggest using 2 or 3 tinderboxes and spread them out in your inventory. Also, if you like to max out on xp, train at FOG dungeon (and don't forget to report bots as I met ~10 bots over there), I was able to do 1260 logs per hour (in my case they were maple logs so 170k xp per hour) Good luck

snick5
So I tried using a pyrelord to get the "invisible" +3 to fire making to try to light the 10th beacon.... that didn't work. =(

Though that implies firemaking in itself is not useless. Other than random quest requirements and lighting better lanterns (which cap out at what like lvl 30?) there no benefit to making "better" fires at all Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
Youmu
Also, if you have lots of cash but want as much exp as possible, use magic logs. Otherwise, maples are the most cost effective. Firemake at the Grand Exchange, on the east side. Run all the way east to the west side of a tree nearby, and once you firemake all 27 logs, you should end up one square from the GE bank. Take out 27 more logs, and repeat. Also, only use 1 tinderbox. Though that implies firemaking in itself is not useless. Other than random quest requirements and lighting better lanterns (which cap out at what like lvl 30?) there no benefit to making "better" fires at all Since the release of the adze and hand cannons, firemaking got a little useful update. It's pretty awesome to fire with dwarf cannons at 99 firemaking to be honest :] Also a free dragon axe (2.5m) is a good reward for firemaking in my opinion

Also, if you fm on a skill total world, you won't meet noobs wasting your fire lines. There won't even be people firemaking with you either. On the skill world in f2p (as i'm not member), I met a LOT of people who messed up my fire lines. They cared even less about fire lines than in the other worlds. Also, the line you imply only exists of 2 next to each other if I remember correct so if another joins you, you need to look for another line after banking. But prove me wrong and try to fm logs in f2p at the G.E. and check how many logs are burned. I hope for you you do better than I do at G.E. ;-)
qeltar
You should never do Firemaking at the GE. Why? You can't use a familiar there. You should always have a foraging familiar out if you aren't using something else for a particular purpose -- it can potentially earn you enough in foraged items each hour to pay for the logs you burn and then some.
