I had to get a new laptop and the screen doesn't look right. I have no knowledge on calibrating a LED LCD, or any other monitor for that matter. So, before I mess anything up I would like to know if anyone has done this before and if it's reversible?

I have a laptop with a 17.3" HD + LED LCD display running Windows 7. Generic PnP Monitor on Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset. I can get to the calibrate display settings but kind of don't want to mess anything up.

My photo's look very different on other monitors. I don't want to post washed out looking photos that I have taken the time to edit. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

This is the trouble with monitors, 2 monitors from the same manufacture can look slightly different display wise when set to the exact same settings. I have 2 dell monitors right now which look idential, but one displays slightly brighter then the other. Without there the exact same model there will always be a slight tint to one of the screens. The only way to change this is to spend some time adjusting the colours, brightness and contrast until they become as close to each other as possible.

Are your drivers installed and resolution set to what is recommended in Windows 7?

I would just use the calibration settings, you won't mess anything up by doing so.
