Windows 7 odd bug...

On both my laptop (32 bit) and desktop (64 bit) I'm fidning that if windows turns the display off after the alloted time and I'm not there so display stays off for a few minutes that when it comes back the task bar has vanished.

I have the start menu button, but nothing else, and the only way to get it back is to end the explorer[Caution: Executable File] process and restart it.

Anyone know what causes this?

Or any ideas on a fix? (aside from "don't let the screen turn off")

You can try that thread I found, sounds like the same problem you're having.

Guess there was bound to be a bug in Win7, least it's not like Vista,

Mind to explain? I've used Vista for a long time and only ever hit one bug, which was inoffensive.

Yeah everyone spouts this crud bout Vista.

I ran vista for years, I only ever had two problems:

1) entire system died because a power surge corrupted my harddrive

2) graphics died because the fan on gpu failed.
