Charms as a clue reward

Featured Replies

Just an idea I had about making clues less aggravating. Here's the quick code so you can help bump the thread if you support it.

Quick find code: 83-84-483-60197058

After hearing multiple complaints about clue rewards that barely break the 20k mark and being irritated myself over the often lousy clue rewards I've thought about something that might make doing clues more worth while.

This would be the addition of summoning charms into the clue rewards. Kind of like fire lighters and purple sweets.

I have different ideas on how this can be incorporated.

1. Higher level charms for higher level clues. Example: Level 1 would give gold/green, level 2 would give gold/crimson and level 3 would give crimson/blue

2. Higher level charms have a higher % chance of higher level charms instead of a strict type of charm you would get.

Let me know what you guys think and some suggestions that you have that can make this an even better idea. I've already had some support on this idea so I thought I'd make it official.

That would be a very nice addition to clue rewards and would definitely give me more incentive to do them :P

I think this is a pretty good idea to be honest. I hate charm hunting but I like clues. So sounds good to me... :D

Great idea!

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

I thought when summoning was released they listed clues as a source of charms?

I can't find anything backing this up, but I'm pretty sure it was there.

If would be a nice reward.

Maybe add a few of the special charms depending on the locations used. Mort Myre = talon charms, Karajama = obsidian charms and wildy = abyss charms.

Personally I would rather 20 talon beast charms to 20 sharks anyday.

  • Dragon Axe x11
    Berserker Ring x9
    Warrior Ring x8
    Seercull
    Dragon Med

    Godsword Shard (bandos)
    Granite Maul x 3

Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats]

A very good suggestion according to me.

The secondary charms is an awesome idea. I'm going to post it on my thread and give you credit Joe.

I absolutely hate clueing, so this might be a good way for me to actually do some clues :P I really need a hell of a lot of charms :P

Considering how hard those are to get, 20 talon beast charms needs to be considered a drop just as rare as say god trimmed rune or something. Something pretty damn rare. However, I think its a bad idea because these are 100% completely utterly USELESS to someone who does not have the level to use them. Just like me and my 30 damn spirit seeds.

So, secondary charms to me are a bad idea because not everyone who will do the clues can use them.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.
[spoiler=The rest of my sig. You know you wanna see it.]

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

Just because you can't sell them they shouldn't be a reward?

You can't use blue charms until level 23, does that mean they shouldn't be a drop until your 23 summoning?

Obsidian charms can be used as low as 22.

Talon beast charms are meant to be rare, but theres nothing wrong with adding another way to get them.

By saying there useless without the level is a poor excuse to not add them. Just wait until you can use those spirit seed to rake in the exp.

I would do clues more often if I got charms as a reward. As it stands, I don't like spending twenty-thirty minutes running around for 50k.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

It'd definitely motivate me to do clues, and that's saying something since I usually have the same clue sitting in my bank for weeks. Nice idea.
