There are two photos here, the first is wallpaper sized, 1920x1200 cropped and sized down from 4000x3000px. The second is a screenshot from a video I recorded with my video camera. It is lesser quality, but I think the overall photo looks better.

Both were taken with a Sony HDR-CX520.

Later this afternoon I will try to record a time-lapse of the sunset.

The wall on the right side is really distracting.

It's kinda meant to be. Besides, this was more of a spur-of-the-moment "Oh hey that looks pretty, I'ma take a pic" handheld picture anyway.

I liked it a lot, and it works well as a wallpaper.

Well it was taken with a video camera. The day I can afford a good Digital SLR though, you'll see pictures from me.

Yes, I realise that, and if you'd bother to have read any more than just my first post, I said I'd try taking more pictures without the wall, etc.

 

And as for what you are calling an "excuse", my response that the image was taken with a video camera was directed at the graininess of the image. I cannot change that without blurring the photo.
