Mintcakes as cash?

Featured Replies

Hi there.

So I've heard a lot about people now using mint cakes as cash, and was wondering how this would work. Is it something to do with Junk trading, or what?

I have one in my bank and want to convert it to cash, lol.

Mint cakes are used as anti-junk. In a normal junk trade, the seller puts up the item plus junk, and the buyer pays the GE value of both. With mint cakes, it would be the buyer who puts up the mint cake. So if you want to buy something that's undervalued on the GE, you can use mint cakes in place of some of your cash and buy it without the other guy needing junk.

Of course, if you happen to have lots of junk, just offer it along with the mint cake if you want to sell it for pure cash.

You could sell it for cash but that's a lot of junk to reach it's street price. Unless you have like I think it's 5m junk now, you're better off just saving it until you need something very very very badly and the item(s) is bought out.

If you don't know what you want why buy it? It's not like it's gonna go away if you don't use it right now seriously just save it till you find yourself needing something that's hard to get.

Well it seems the SW corner of W2 GE has a bunch of people with thing like "Selling item x for Y cash and Z mint cakes" "Buying mint cakes 10M each" "Lending x item for y mint cakes", etc.
