I like this. It seems to be a tad out of focus, while being over sharpened. Get what I mean?

I like the composition.

It must be you, because I made sure specifically that I didn't sharpen it too much - what makes it look out of focus?

Just a personal preference, but I would crop the sky out a bit. Seems to take up too much space, the horizon cuts off about 60%.

Nah I like the sky. Is shiny refering to the waves on the horizon? They don't seem quite as in focus as the foreground.

No, that would kill the aspect ratio.

^slow shutter speed makes water blurry smooth, not necessary out of focus

I know that.... I think it is out of focus as well.

Do you even know what an aspect ratio is?

I bet he does, and I agree with him. Little put the sky like that for effect reasons.

The issue is that the horizon line is what your eyes automatically focus to, it helps create the balance between the space and the focal point. What I see on the picture the rock and wave direction should be the focal point.

So cropping the large sky out and putting the moving waves to lead towards the bottom, and the waves above the rock lead into the distance. Sets your eyes in an easier place. Those lines I drew are the lines of movement and placing the focal point somewhere more fitting. The rock shouldn't be on the middle, it creates a huge split in the picture. It also distinguishes distance. Placing it higher up makes it look further back, giving more room for the bottom to flow easier.

Yeah... uncropped is more appealing.

That cropped version is too busy, there is movement on all of it.

Uncropped has balance.
