Raezk
Hey guys! Let's go train agility? Oh wait, there's not too many places to train agility in the realm of runescape? Not to worry! We can just head on over to the Brimhaven agility arena! [/sarcasm] No, in all seriousness, I actually despise that damn agility arena. And instead of just saying I hate it, or not providing good points as to why it sucks, I'm gonna go pretty in-depth. 1. The Obstacles. The Brimhaven agility dungeon is set up so that You, the player, have to get to a ticket dispenser that is in the middle of any select platform. The Arena is divided up into 25 platforms, each with an agility trial needed to get to another one. Then, once you have obtained a ticket, (or your switch, at the top right of the screen turns to green), you have to head to the next appearing ticket dispenser. You have 1 minute to get your butt over to the next ticket dispenser before it disappears. Why is this bad though? Mainly because all of the obstacles take an inordinate amount of tries to get through, and when they DO work, you're gonna experience click lag!. Take for instance, the blades trap. When the blades of this trap go down into the ground, your character must run past them. However, sometimes your character stops right before the trap, and does not move. Even after clicking the other side of the trap many times, your character does not move! There's the possibility that your character will suddenly start walking over the god-damned trap instead of running too, meaning that your character's feet get impaled more easily. When you DO cross the trap, your character will sometimes spend a second or two in a lag state, where they will not move anywhere no matter how many times or where you click for them to run. This is especially aggravating in a timed game along a circuit where you can fail a trap over 10 times before passing an obstacle. On a character with 42 agility, it took 31 tries to get past this trap. That's just ridiculous, and the character missed 2 ticket dispenser switches! But the Worst of these, by far, are the darts. Not only are these things practically impossible to dodge, the animation takes about 8 seconds, and you lose 2 agility levels if you do not pass it! Players do not need that kind of crap in an arena where quick timing is essential! 2. The rewards Oh wow. the rewards. These things don't really feel too worthwhile to do all of that agility training for. Yes, the experience is nice, but should 10 tickets equate to a snapdragon? * 1: 240 Agility experience * 3: Toadflax * 5: Wergali * 10: Snapdragon * 10: 2,480 Agility experience (248 per ticket) * 25: 6,500 Agility experience (260 per ticket) * 100: 28,000 Agility experience (280 per ticket) * 800: Pirate's hook * 1000: 320,000 Agility experience (320 per ticket) The Pirate hook is completely cosmetic, and is a waste of tickets. The best agility experience comes from the 1000 option, but that means doing 1000 rounds of the brimhaven agility arena. I'll continue to update this when I have a bigger time-budget. Feel free to argue a point, agree, disagree, whatever. ---No signature for now.>_>---
Rhonda
The best agility experience comes from the 1000 option, but that means doing 1000 rounds of the brimhaven agility arena. TBH, it's more than that because you have to successfully get a ticket each round and occasionally, that's not possible (such as the lag you mentioned with the saw obstacle). The reason I dislike training there is it always ends up in some big contest of who's got the most tickets and that juvenile "FIRST" crap. But I generally hate other people and that's my problem. :P
Nurse_Renard
I dislike the agility arena as well, but to be honest, the most annoying thing that the lower level'd obsticles seemingly have the longest recovery time, and that those poles with the blades usally take me about 7 attempts to get through. mister_moocky
You are 42 agility. This is 42% of level 99 and a mere .0035% of the xp. Do you excpect to do well with such a low level? There are many other options for training agility anyway. quit
Guthorm
I like the arena because I think is fun. Is the best place to have a race with other players, as for efficiency, I really could have care less. [Guild Wars 2-In game screenshot, the MMORPG you are waiting for. Click for thread. Omali
Help Jagex, I'm 50 combat and the green dragons keep owning me every time I go near them. Why do you make it so difficult for people to kill green dragons? They're impossible and overpowered nerf them now. Everything seems difficult when you are low level. Raezk
The deal with the Agility Arena is not necessarily the difficulty of the traps people. What's annoying about it is that most traps take a long time to recover from, and that you can get screwed over repeatedly by aforementioned traps. It's not an issue of "baawwww itz too hard" so much as an issue of "Why on earth does it need to be so annoying and needlessly convoluted". ---No signature for now.>_>---
mister_moocky
If your issue is not the difficulty but the overcomplication why not go to a simple run-in-a-circle course? Most people your level train at the barbarian outpost. Contrary to your first statement there are many different courses to train agility, you seem to have picked one you like the least and not bothered with any others. quit
