  1. Well, this guide seems pretty helpful to people just starting out in Manage Thy Kingdom. However, I find that by maxing out the amount of workers on herbs, then setting the rest on farming, yields me about 500k a day. Of course, my popularity is always above 90%, the Royal Trouble quest has been completed, and I usually have 1250k in my coffers.
  2. I like the idea, but I do think that there should be a penalty if you fail to pay the loan back- Otherwise, it's just free money.
  3. Aha! I'm back, this time finding other areas. I figured I would start my search in ardougne, so I headed down into the sewers with my trusty orb of occulus. Now, I haven't finished the Rat Catchers Quest, so I wasn't able to scope out most of the sewer, but I did find an interesting cellar. [hide=Ardougne East Sewers] A weird cellar to the east of the market entrance to the ardougne east sewers... [/hide] I also scoped out the tunnel used to get into west ardougne that is used in... Biohazard I believe? (maybe it was plague city?..) The results were both satisfying and interesitng. From what I can deduce, about a screen south-west of the biohazard tunnel is a cave with some type of squishy gloop in it. [hide=Ardougne West Sewers] From here you can see a whole lot. What's that, to the south-east?.. A cave with bubly slime! (I'm thinking there's a possibility that this is the earth altar). [/hide] After that, I headed over to the gnome stronghold, and looked inside the gnomish Wizard Brimstail's cave... And what I found was enigmatic, if anything. So, We're left with a very long flight of stairs, and a half altar of sorts.... The mystery runs deeper and deeper... [hide=Brimstail's cave] Evil dark stairs. I have no idea whatsoever why these are here. Maybe they represent changes in elevation?.. This spot in the cave lets you see a weird half-altar thing, admist a large group of cave path contusions. [/hide] Around this time I decided to go back to eagle's peak and use the orb of occulus to check out in greater detail what I had found earlier. [hide=Eagle's Peak] Now, let's count what we've got here. 1) The remnants of the candlestick diversion 2) A piece of the Blast Furnace 3) More detailed piece of Temple Trekking 4) A jail behind the church And more of those stairs can be viewed from the south-east part of the dungeon... [/hide] I then headed over to Miscellania to scout the coastline. First, I found an abandoned island off of the coast. Nothing but grass. Conspicuous? I think so! [hide=Random Island] [/hide] TO WRAP UP: While I would consider this a very successful excursion, it does leave me with a lot of questions. For example, Are the islands in runescape really as far away from the mainland as they are made out to be? And then there's the question of what lies inside those can-only-access-once-in-a-quest areas that need exploring as well... So, I'll need someone who has not done the fremmenik trials quest to explore the areas you uncover when doing the quests- For example, Swensen's challenge, or where you fight the boss that has 4 phases.
  4. Hey there Guys, I'm not sure if anything was posted on this earlier, but I found some interesting areas inside Eagle's peak, visible even without the orb of occulus. I'm not entirely sure what the Church one is for. Hmm...
  5. I really hope this is a joke. Otherwise, this just speaks loads for the original poster's inteligence. A Ninja skill. Really? A freaking ninja skill?
  6. The deal with the Agility Arena is not necessarily the difficulty of the traps people. What's annoying about it is that most traps take a long time to recover from, and that you can get screwed over repeatedly by aforementioned traps. It's not an issue of "baawwww itz too hard" so much as an issue of "Why on earth does it need to be so annoying and needlessly convoluted".
  7. One thing I really have to agree with in this rant is the place of common sense with players. Honestly, people these days expect to have the game hold their hand and walk them through the entire playing process. I encounter people all of the time who say that "I dun no how 2 do this quest" or something of the like. People constantly moan about how they are poor, and how things are so hard. They're not. Living in this game back then was harder, yes, but it did fill you with that sense of satisfaction. I think that feeling is what the creator of the thread is trying to say is missing from the game nowadays.
  8. Hey guys! Let's go train agility? Oh wait, there's not too many places to train agility in the realm of runescape? Not to worry! We can just head on over to the Brimhaven agility arena! [/sarcasm] No, in all seriousness, I actually despise that damn agility arena. And instead of just saying I hate it, or not providing good points as to why it sucks, I'm gonna go pretty in-depth. 1. The Obstacles. The Brimhaven agility dungeon is set up so that You, the player, have to get to a ticket dispenser that is in the middle of any select platform. The Arena is divided up into 25 platforms, each with an agility trial needed to get to another one. Then, once you have obtained a ticket, (or your switch, at the top right of the screen turns to green), you have to head to the next appearing ticket dispenser. You have 1 minute to get your butt over to the next ticket dispenser before it disappears. Why is this bad though? Mainly because all of the obstacles take an inordinate amount of tries to get through, and when they DO work, you're gonna experience click lag!. Take for instance, the blades trap. When the blades of this trap go down into the ground, your character must run past them. However, sometimes your character stops right before the trap, and does not move. Even after clicking the other side of the trap many times, your character does not move! There's the possibility that your character will suddenly start walking over the god-damned trap instead of running too, meaning that your character's feet get impaled more easily. When you DO cross the trap, your character will sometimes spend a second or two in a lag state, where they will not move anywhere no matter how many times or where you click for them to run. This is especially aggravating in a timed game along a circuit where you can fail a trap over 10 times before passing an obstacle. On a character with 42 agility, it took 31 tries to get past this trap. That's just ridiculous, and the character missed 2 ticket dispenser switches! But the Worst of these, by far, are the darts. Not only are these things practically impossible to dodge, the animation takes about 8 seconds, and you lose 2 agility levels if you do not pass it! Players do not need that kind of crap in an arena where quick timing is essential! 2. The rewards Oh wow. the rewards. These things don't really feel too worthwhile to do all of that agility training for. Yes, the experience is nice, but should 10 tickets equate to a snapdragon? The Pirate hook is completely cosmetic, and is a waste of tickets. The best agility experience comes from the 1000 option, but that means doing 1000 rounds of the brimhaven agility arena. I'll continue to update this when I have a bigger time-budget. Feel free to argue a point, agree, disagree, whatever.
  9. Honestly, chartering ships to Oo'glog takes up quite a bit of cash, especially if you do it constantly. I would recommend utulizing the Mobilizing armies teleport to get to Oo'glog, but only if your character is able to fight off the dangers that are inside the place. If you have a fairy ring, use code AKQ to get there.
  10. Thanks for the information guys, particularly that RuneWiki page Ovorette- I can't believe I missed that!
  11. I do enjoy talking to people, and will have an inteligent conversation. However, I don't enjoy it when people just butt in, believe they can be rude, and tell off everybody, just because they have a higher {insert stat here} stat. It's pixels people. Pixels. Fighting over a monster or having a tantrum about a drop really isn't worth it. :<
  12. While the amount of health you get is slowly becoming obsolete, Jagex can't just go and raise the amount of hitpoints everybody can have without making combat levels wonky. My solution to this is to give temporary health boosters instead. For instance, maybe if a character wore a special piece of armor, it would temporarily raise the hitpoint cap for the character by 5. Maybe a health potion that raises the hitpoint cap temporarily by 10.
  13. I think you have a great point in that experience is a commodity. It will always be. Now, I can definitely understand that the buyers of items could be a little ticked off by the rising prices, but that happens to all economies when the demand rises enough. The inflation also helps out the sellers of these things in the long run, fetching them a bit more money. The Abyssal Whip, for example, with its nerfed drop rates, costs a lot more than it used to. All the prices really are doing is making gathering the raw materials for things more profitable for the workers. Hopefully, this doesn't go the eventual way of socialism though... Damn Karl Marx.
  14. So, I've been away from the game for quite a bit. When I come back, I learn that random events now give you the option for an experience lamp (among other awards). Now, I'm specifically wondering if there are any larger experience lamp rewards (instead of the normal 10x your skill level lamps) available in the realm of runescape. The only examples I know of are experience lamps from the achievement diaries or the experience lamps from the stronghold of player safety. Does anybody have the answer?
  15. There are some Black Unicorns to the direct east of the Dark Warrior's Fortress [about level 15 I'd say?] It's a multi-combat zone, and they are agressive (I think it is clear that you are past the point when they would stop being agressive though...) The only downside is that the area... Is well, The wilderness...
