Neitiznot vs. Verac for arma

I have always thought that verac was the best helm for goin to arma with but after lookin thorough some peoples pictures of drops i notices\\d them wearing a neitiznot helm which i thought was strange so i checked the stats. The stats of a neitiznot has +2 more range att, +3 more mage def and the same prayer bonus as a verac helm. So after lookin at this its obvious that the neitiznot is better but if this is true then why do so many people go to arma with verac? Im just wondering because if neitiznot is better, then im just gunna sell my verac and have 4m to spend on other gear to kill arma with.

Seeing as I never been, i can only take a guess.

 

The Verac's helm has a much greater range defense then the Neitiznot helm. And 2 range attack probably isn't going to affect how well you do. Also 3 magic defense isn't going to do that much considering the body/chaps they have are probably dhide/karils/arma and have a decent mage def anyway.

 

But this is just from looking at the stats and no real usage.

verac's is better because of its massively better melee defence. It will help you not get hit by the meleer minion and if you get meleed by kree on spawn. It also is better for tanking KC

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

For me (I trio) Armadyl is better. The +2 prayer of Verac is irrelivent because I need 1 sip of ppot/super rest between altars regardless. The increase in range accuracy is of course great. The vast majority of damage you take is from magic (Kree's magic attack and the magic minion) while you take little from melee. No only does the melee minion spend lots of time flying between players but his attacks are less accurate then the mage's. And there's the small perk of it not degrading.

well the range def doesnt matter because your praying range the whole time anyway and i guess the melee could help but from what i hear mage is the biggest factor in what does damage

This is what I wear, excluding helmet:

 

Accumulator

Fury

Crossbow

Spectral

Armadyl Chest and Skirt

Barrows Gloves

Infinity boots :oops:

 

Given this, the usefulness of an increase in 25 of ranged and melee defence that Verac's gives over Neitiznot exceeds 2 ranged attack and 3 magic defense. I actually take most of my damage from the meleer, so for soloing and duoing, Verac's is better. Arguably Armadyl Helmet would be better for trio+, but I don't really trio much anymore.
