January 31, 201016 yr since this is a 1 off thing, i'd suggest making 100 iron plates, will cost you around 150k. ]
January 31, 201016 yr Either make iron plate like DMT said, or you could try smelting steel bars. It will be slower, but you will make a profit.
January 31, 201016 yr If you haven't done it yet, do The Knight's Sword quest. That will get you a good chunk of smithing experience - around 12k I think.
