Evaluate
Greetings, wise gurus of Tif T+C. So I'm building a computer for an A+ computer maintainence class in school, but also as a computer for my mom. This is just a basic computer, she doesn't game or anything (aside from facebook, which somehow our current computer has trouble running), so I'm trying to keep it not real fancy, but at the same time keep it future proofed for a while. What I'm asking of you guys is to look over this list, make sure I'm not missing anything and that it's all compatible. The main thing I'm not sure about is the power supply, and whether or not I'll need to get any extra SATA cables, as I had to do this with my last build. Here's the list, feel free to post suggestions on other parts, and thanks in advance to you all. Laura
It would be worth the extra $30 to spring for a Core 2 Duo.
das1330
for that particular build you really don't need extra case fans. Other then that however everything looks compatible and able to complete the requirements you posted.

And I know I don't really need an extra case fan, but the one I have here is only like 5 bucks, so I figured it wouldn't hurt. 7 years 'scape knowledge and counting99 Attack - June 8th 2010 99 Defence - August 2nd 2011 99 HP - December 2nd 2011
00smelly00
Am not sure if the DDR3 RAM is compatible with the particular motherboard but I might be wrong so just confirm before you buy :) Good luck anyhow and I hope it is a good PC
Sbrideau
If you're going with a Core 2, I don't think it's worth it to go with DDR3.
K3inMitl3id
I've had my low-end desktop-replacement laptop for three years now and I can still run programs on the internet just as well as I could back then. Everything except for some old games that have been updated... (like half-life 2 being updated the episode 2 engine, lags me out to death). If you're just gonna run simple things on that computer like facebook, I highly doubt you need all that other stuff. Btw I'd probably go for another power supply besides the Rosewill. I've heard some bad things about em, especially since they're so cheap. KMFDM - Kein Mitleid Für Die Mehrheit - No Pity For The Masses!
