ovorette
I just realized I am very close to level 77 mining when I will be able, on paper at least, to mine concentrated coal. After looking at the map of the cavern and reading about the monsters contained therein I wonder if I could survive down there long enough to make it worthwhile? My combat level is 101; defense is 75 and equally balanced with other combat stats. Seems I read of a particular world where there are lots of players fighting these monsters, so mining might be less dangerous for the likes of my character. Maybe it's just wishful thinking. ;) Advice and/or information will be much appreciated.
Quorra
Go to world 84, I've seen a few level 3s mining there. W84 is packed full of people mining etc so you won't have that much of a problem.
Zaaps1
You'll hardly get attacked on w84. Hey, if you're going to be spending some time down there mining, would you mind gathering a little data for me? Click my mining guide, link in sig, for more details. Or PM me. ovorette
Thank you both for the world 84 tip. I'll venture out as soon as I hit level 77. And Zaaps1, I'll be happy to record some data for you if you need it for concentrated coal. Currently, your guide does not indicate you do, so let me know! :)
SirIzenhime
Living rock creatures are very weak, their max hits are only around 8 (at least the levl 120s are), most of the CB level is just HP. Also, they only attack you if you practically walk on top of them, they don't have a big agression range. Also, certain concentrated rocks are out of the way, or you can just stand on a certain side of them, and be nearly 100% safe. W84 is great as most of them are already destracted by other players. Most people take Guthans and an EE down there, if a rock gets lucky and starts hitting you to much, you can just heal on them. Hedgehog
I did fine at 63 defense and no armor down there, so you should be fine, just set your respawn point to Falador, just in case. If you feel paranoid, you can take an EE or Guthans, but it's a bit overkill on w84. And remember, dying is not a big deal.
Vulxai
Coal's a little tougher than gold to get by without being attacked. I never get attacked mining gold, but I had to pay attention while mining coal because there aren't as many people, but the creatures are easy to get trapped on the other side of the rock, so you'll be safe to mine. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
Zaaps1
The 140s can hit 12s and higher. Just record the xp you get per hour and indicate your mining level, the ore you mined, your familiar, and your pickaxe. Thanks for volunteering! ~It's Super Effective!
