Power slaying?

been thinking of power slaying for some of the longer tasks for a while now what would be a good setup? what prayer bonus should i be aiming for? is the holy wrench worth the spot?

Which tasks?

Greaters, gargoyles and hellhounds are best piety'ing (full prossy + bunyip ftw) in the new dungeon as the ring really adds up. I'm not high enough for abyss demons but I'm betting those are the same.

Veracs skirt+ prossy top is enough for most tasks as allows you to piety (if you have SW cape even better) at a pretty low cost for the speed increase.

Black demons+cannon can be tanked in veracs with piety and unicorn for a fast task.

Just use cannon where possible and piety as many of the tasks as you can afford to.

It's probably faster to range black demons from safespot in taverly dungeon, because then you can target 4+ demons at the same time.

 

I certainly have the impression it is a lot faster.

It might be a bit quicker, but it saves a few cannonballs which soon add up. Plus if you stand just right the cannon will pretty much kill the demon in 1 spin. The extra hit you get makes 90% of them die in 1 spin.

was thinking metals/blacks dark beasts abby demons and black demons i dont have SW cape and wont be getting it anytime soon but im getting ardy 3 cape now might add more to the list in the future

i would only use the holy wrench if the you cant make the money youve lost powering back in the time you saved

For power slaying, you definitely want a proselyte top, Verac's skirt, and a fire cape. Use piety/turmoil on everything. Exceptions are dags, spectres, and any other monster that dies too quickly to really utilize it. A better setup is Bandos plate, V skirt, and SW cape.

Or, for the ultra-cheap people (like me), proselyte top+Soul Wars Cape will do wonders for lowering the rate at which you use prayer potions.

like i said in top post i wont be getting SW cape soon if at all need a few tasks to get ardy 3 cape the abby demon task i used veracs brassy and skirt worked well had a whip and a few more decent rune drops on it so i spent it all on p pots as long as i don't loose money overall im happy and its nice to see 50+ hits with rune def+whip/ ss :thumbsup:

It was more of a, "here's what you should use, but this is better if you have it."

Personally I cannon every task I can, turmoil all except for daggs and specters, wear either v top+skirt for tasks where I need more def (since I semi-afk, and don't want to die/have to use unicorn), v skirt+prossy top for most tasks, or prossy for tasks where I pray, or for things like abby demons. I always use defender over DFS, and use spec rest pots+sgs to save a bit on P pots. I normally use ~75-100k in p pots a task. Most tasks, including tasks in the 90's of iron and steel dragons, I can finish in an hour.
