Rhonda
Especially with the mint cake update, I'm hearing a lot of how the GE is broken, but no one is willing to take time to explain it to me. Is it broken because the prices aren't equal to the street prices?
manitstinks
What do you mean by broken exactly? There has been a few bugs with it (as soon as I put in an offer, it canceled itself).
Rhonda
I mean broken as in that's why mint cakes were so valuable and junk trading is used to get the GE prices even with the street prices. At least, I think so. As I said, no one will explain their complaining.
stonewall337
Well, it is working, however, it is broken in the sense that it isn't exactly functioning as it should. For example, the GE price should be the street price. However, since it isn't, junk trades are needed. Example, edibles. They are worth far more on the street then on the GE. Since fewer people sell on the GE as a result of the higher street price, fewer transactions are made of these items. As a result, the GE price rises or falls slowly, but the street price moves far quicker in most cases. Essentially, the GE can't keep up with the street value of items. Urbex
Yep, GE doesn't update quickly enough to meet demand.
Sir_Squab
Works quickly enough for most demand tbh. Doesn't work well for new items, or extremely rare items like rares, spirit shields, etc. Also, some item prices are "broken;" if there's an item at the lowest price the GE allows the item to go to, and you can't sell it at that price, that indicates a flaw. Try selling addy p++ arrows from GW, for example. Or unstrung bows. Overall, it works well enough for fairly high demand items that have a fairly high supply. But not all items meet that criteria. wormy
Also broken in the sense of the price caps. Bronze arrows, cheese, and pie dishes comes to mind. The caps prevents merching price boosting the items, but there are no incentives to make these items with the prices so low.
