Hi folks,

I recently drove across the good 'ole US of A to spend three weeks in Canada...

One of the Places I visited in Canada was a town called Sudbury. The picture below is from a higher vantage point overlooking part of the town.

This image is 3 seperate Photographs pieced together by hand, editing was done in Photoshop. The image still has some flaws but believe me I spent a good deal of time working on it, balancing color, and removing hard edges.

The Photograph was taken with a (hand held) Kodak DC 4200 and as I said pieced together in Photoshop.

Hope you enjoy the pic and feel free to comment any suggestions for removing flaws are always welcome.

There was one major flaw but i will wait and see if you figure it out before I post it ;)

Thanks for your time

Edit: Here are the original images I had to work with... the first three in the segment are what I used for the Panoramic ;)

Yup, yup, great eyes guys...

That be the spot I goofed on...

What happend was I got home (meaning to my actual home) and I realized that there was a gap between pics 2 and 3... naturally I was not there to re-take the pics so I tried to improvise a bit, so that It would not look totally off.

I will post the original pics for ya guys later so ya can see what I did :) and so you can see where I blended them together :).

If anyone has any suggestions for fixing that major spot, let me know cause I am still trying to think up improvements for it :)

Thanks

Dude man u visited sudbury -__-

Mississauga

same province

or atleast visited my home town stephenville newfoundland

Cool, I was in Mississauga.

Stayed there overnight even, nice place :). But I tell ya spend a couple days in Toronto and man that driving is a killer!... Them folks are crazy, the pedestrians dont watch out for cars, the cars dont watch out for pedestrians, your driving along the right lane on the road suddenly there are 3 parked cars, lol what a mess  but I had a great time :D.

While staying in Toronto I went to Niagara, Mississauga and just cruised the area a bit exploring. I did Medival times and a few other cool things like checking out the ROM.

Cool picture, glad to see I'm not the only one. I don't know what else to use other than the healing brush/patching tool. I used that a lot in my picture that you fixed up.

:)

EDIT: Sorry for the lack of comments, was using a very low quality computer with a very low quality monitor, couldn't see the image that well.

Looks like a good picture, I too like the sky and earth, it's a huge difference from what I'm used to in Nevada. Lemmings, That program sounds really cool, but I think I would rather do the work myself. I consider it fun, and I like to have the feeling of accomplishment of doing it myself. I can't speak for anyone else though.

I'd try cutting little sections of the rock out and pasting them in the spot, very carefully. It might take some time, bit could be worth it to you. Looking forward to seeing more of these, I myself have 3 or so to still do when I get home. :)

Thanks for the comments man. I enjoyed the change of scenery, the weather was awesome, cloudy and cool (ok I spent a good deal of time freezing while the locals were wearing shorts  but it was great).

I look forward to seeing some more of your photographs, I was thinking maybe we should start a photo thread...have people post images of scenery from where they live, post vacation shots (not talking family portraits ;) just landscapes, notable sceneryand such) etc., gives us something different to look at.

I have used Ulead and I have a program similar to it I can't think of its name right now, its a Kodak Proprietary Product that came with our Digital Darkroom at work...anyways such programs work fairly well but they are not perfect. I too prefer to give my images the personal touch especially when the main goal is for my use, memories and such.

When I edit my images I start out with adjustments of brightness and contrast, hue and saturation, then get into the tools of which I use the clone, the healing brush (rarely), then get into the smudge (low setting), dodge and burn and not to forget the eraser, lol ;)

I try to keep things as much as possible as they were captured, but am willing to make minor changes (enhancements) for the sake of image quality.

Here are the original images that I took (due to positioning of the setting sun I was not able to get a full 360 as I had wanted, so there are gaps which forced me to only use the first three shots for the panorama)

Yep, I was there for the fireworks, was really cool cause I was having supper at the restaurant can't think of its name but its right in front of the falls next to the area where the lights are projected from... good food there by the way and they had the outdoor heaters on which for me was a plus lol ;)
