Garlock
I am having trouble playing a mp4 file on my windows media player. The media player doesn't recognize the type of file and is unable to play it. Suggestions? Thanks
JoeDaStudd
You either need codecs or another video player. CCCP is a good codec pack and VLC player will pretty much play any file format from the start. Sbrideau
I would download the K-lite codec pack, it has been very reliable for all the time I've been using it.
Garlock
Thank you for the suggestions. I might give the VLC player a try. However, I'm a bit paranoid about downloading any thing from the internet due to viruses and spyware.
Laura
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ It's clean.
indy500fan
It's also open source if you want to check it out and compile it yourself. But I wouldn't bother since it is clean.
