Fight Caves Setup

Hey guys, I recently tried Fight Caves using the set up suggested in Muggi's guide, however it seems a bit outdated. Can you guys give me an updated set up? I have 78 prayer, 94 ranged and 99 defence if it helps.

bring a couple sara brews and a buttload of prayer potions

It isn't outdated. it has the most practical approach to the caves. A few items might be left out, but those are easily fillable, such as crossbows and shields.

Since you are using Guthans your prayer will be lower than any Verac set-up, so try to use an Unholy Book, but I'd still keep a Fury over a Stole for first timers. Always use a Ranger top(Armadyl, Karils, Blessed D'hide) when ranging. Karil's crossbow is actually the fastest way to complete caves, but most prefer the cheapness and feel of the rune cross, so stick with that if you want.

quiver: 1500 broad bolts (i didnt use this many, i think like 800)

since youre 99 def you most likely can switch the shiel/helm for something more usefull, I was 71 defence and 82/83 range on all attempts.

I don't have an issue with the actual techniques etc, just the set up he suggests, last time I used the crystal bow I found it a bit rubbish.

Crystal Bow in Fight Caves is defiantly not rubbish, but if you insist on using something else, bring a C'bow with Broad Bolts and Diamond bolts for Jad. As far as armor, muggi's suggestion is far from outdated; Veracs skirt + helm and Arma Plate/Kail Body had been the best setup for a while; Guthan is actually somewhat outdated. Bring an Enchanted Excalibur in your invo for healing and 3-4 Ranged Potions. Bring 4-8 Sara Brews depending on your skill, Defense and Hitpoints; rest is Restores.

 

When using a Crossbow I brought an Unholy book when praying and a DFS for the 90s and Healers when at Jad. Also bring Ava's Accumulator when using a C'bow.
