When the computer is left on with or without lid closed instead of sleeping the computer has to be rebooted ie. won't wake by pressing KB or mouse

You got the BlueScreen of Death? Usually trained PC Tech's can fix it for you, because it's a vague problem that can happen when quite a few different things happen. I would just take it to your local PC shop instead of trying to fix it yourself.
