i need some advice on how to do this task. Please note i will be using melee and i dont have alot of money to spend on gear. Stats are in my siggy(im training defence so i would perfer to use my whip + defender if that is even a option with this task).

Standard melee defense gear, so barrows or whatever you use. Whip + defender is best, yes.

 

2 Pure sets, 2 bunyips, EE/SGS, 2 monks for emergencies.

Standard tanking task, they really aren't anything special in terms of preparation (The little Death Spawns don't really affect anything).

Also don't bother fighting the death spawns, they don't get you any slayer exp and are just a pain to have to deal with. And you have 2 places to kill them, The slayer tower and the chaos tunnels. I kill in the CT, but since its your first time you might want to try the tower.

If you have a veracs skirt and prosy top wear it and take about 5-6 prayer pots with you with a pure set a yip, EE and some monks. I managed to go through about 110 with this however my drain was *slightly* faster as I forgot my ardy cape 2 and wore my defence cape or fire capes instead.

 

The other option as CptBaker pointed out is to go to CT. However as he said. Do slayer tower first then move on to CT. And the brilliant thing is that if you choose to you can speed it up by chinning ;)

Or bursting if you want mage exp, but unlike chinning it does not come close to profiting. Oh, and just so you know they are always non-aggressive :thumbup: .

Chin these, blade wing has a good guide up on the Archive of Wisom. Quite honestly they are way to slow to meelee.

Overkill on the food, underkill on pray pots (bring around 6 4 dosers). I survive there just with an sgs and spec restore pots (I bring an iron titan). I do turmoil however, so that's +29% def. I bring v skirt, bandos top and sw cape for a compromise of str, defence and prayer. You should really try to get a sw cape. I have 22 prayer bonus, and the same str bonus as all those old school slayers in full pross and fire cape (which is +19 prayer only) AND I have way better def bonuses.

 

And whoever said it's slow with meleeing: Try turmoiling and using a good combat familiar. I get well over 30k slay xp an hour, that's pretty damn good for a non cannon task where you also profit. In fact, Nechs are one of my fav tasks, also because CT is never crowded and I can hog a lot of these around me and use my titan optimally.

As the above poster said really: Overkill on food and you need more prayers.

At max you'll only need about 5-6 monks maybe not even that, I love to use super defence here just for that extra bit of help but EE might work just as well being like a normal def pot. Change the verac top for a prosy one, and if you want I'll loan you my fury for a bit so you can increase that prayer bonus that little bit more. Also add in more prayer pots..... and the holy wrench, you underestimate how good it is here.

 

(btw if you wana borrow the fury just say on here and I'll log in on world 99 at CW)

 

And bedman, I think the person was referring to the fact that they can be slow in the Slayer Tower, which they can be..... however I hope you're right with the quick exp with the titan.... i have yet to try that, but will do after the weekend with some good titans.

i cant afford to buy p pots atm so im only bringing the spare ones i have. The food might be an overkill and at 97 def i perfer the v brassy over pros top even tho it has a lower pray bonus. Im down to 70 kills left so this setup seems to work for me. Ty for the advice everyone.
