How many gold bars can be smelted per hour? What is the closest bank to a furnace? I need to smelt about 173k gold bars for 99 smithing so I just wanted to get a rough estimate of how long that would take :P

I would put my guess at Edgeville being one of the best, since they're not a door in the way (as is the case with Port Phasmtys), but Neitiznot is pretty close too. I can't exactly remember how many bars an hour it is though, I want to say in the range of 1100 to 1300.

It's about 80k exp an hour, so I think around 1300 bars would be about right (with varrock armor of course).

Ah, I believe the max is around 1,400 per hour. However, expect 1,100-1,300, because we usually aren't paying 100% attention while doing things like smelting :P

 

And I would recommend using the Edgeville furnace.
