back after a while, doing slayer

im playing my main account again, after spending about a year on my pure.

 

stats atm are 70 att/70 str/76 def/91 hp/99 range/92 magic/68 summon/70 prayer/63 slayer

 

i mostly ignored slayer when i played before, but now im going to work on 90 def through slaying.

 

ive got black mask (saving points for helmet), t plate, v skirt, whip, etc

 

ive got 80 prayer banked, and 25m in cash.

 

anything else that would help make training more efficient? dont really need a cannon imo.

wear a prossy plate and piety, use a cb familer on any task possible, EE or SGS is usually enough healing use duradel until 75 slayer then switch to kuradal. If you want slayer levels more then defense, id buy a cannon, its definitely worth it until at least 85 slayer, but its your choice.

No, all those are luxury items that aren't necessary, though the z spear is pretty cheap and helps in a lot of unique combat situations where a whip isn't as useful.

Z spear is for crush for waterfiends and stab for steel/mithril dragons if you have super antifires. It's not worth using anywhere else.

Bandos is superior (if you have the money) because it speeds up your xp/hour, even for defence.

D claws are the best special weapon for slayer, speeding up your xp/hour, even for defence.

Berserker Ring speeds up your xp/hour, even for defence.

Turmoil speeds up your xp/hour, even for defence.

 

I don't see why you would think that they wouldn't speed up defence xp.

They speed things up a bit, but are still luxery items.

 

Bandos is good armour for serious slayers, but I wouldn't buy it if it would take your whole bank to use it. I personally didn't buy Bandos untill I had reached 100m cash. Untill then, you can always use Verac/Pros and use prayers, or if you don't want to mess with Prayer pots, you could just go with something like Torag for the defence (it's fair to note Verac skirt has the same melee def as Torag, as well as prayer bonus). If you're really feeling Cheap, I still see people slaying in Rune armour sometimes :P

 

A Z spear would be smart to buy as there a good number of tasks where using it over a whip is better to do.

 

It's also just personal preference for me, but I prefer the Warrior ring over the Berzerker ring since it makes you slightly more accurate (with a whip at least). However, with the HP update, that +4 str actually does make a difference. So it all depends on which you find more usefull/worth the price.

 

For ANY melee task, I recomend using Super atk and str pots, they cost almost nothing when compared to the profits you gain from slayer, and speed things up A LOT.

I put the items in order of importance. OP should keep buying the items from top to bottom until he/she has met his/her slayer budget.

yea, I can see that being true.

 

The only thing I don't like is D claws, but I've never been much to care about Xp rates. I prefer SGS for healing and prayer restore. But since this is more about XP rates, D Claws would be better.
