mfuge20
Thanks for moving the thread mod =) I have just finished my 4th full statue so I thought i would put this up here for everyone to use... Ok so here we go Having collected 150+ Strange Rocks, I have learned the following: Higher lvl (e.g. higher lvl gems, rocks, logs) do not give you a better chance to collect the rocks: EDIT: I wanted to add an edit to put a list of the things i keep in my inventory for the statues... 1k unfinished cad pots1k whiteberries5k hard leather25k willow logs5k cabbage seeds100 toadflax seeds5k gold ore5k raw trout5k essance EDIT: also thank you 12pure34, reading through your post has inspired me ot add another part to each area... Location: My method of doing statues: Agility: I have found that barb village course is the shortest course and gets me the rocks fairly fast Crafting:Items: Hard leather/ LeatherSpeed: FastLocation: G.E (if i need extra supplies)Instructions: keep one spot open Cooking/Fishing:Items: Large Net/ Raw Low lvl fishSpeed: FastLocation: Catherby (or fishing guild) for cooking and rogue den for cookingInstructions: Fish with big net in fighing guild, cook, you should get the rocks pretty fast... the reason to have low lvl raw fish, I have found that fishing rocks come faster than cooking. EDIT: advised by 12pure34 Construction:You need to be in normal mode, inside your house. The stone appears next to the portal. This means you have to 'wait'While waiting you can do the following things:Bring noted raw fish --> Have the butler unnote them (and bank them afterwards). Tough it may cost a little extra for the butler, you get the chance to combine construct rocks with cooking rocks. This is ofcourse done in the kitchen.Make teletablets --> Have a study within sight of the portal and just make teletablets while waiting! Profitable and magic experience. Farming:Items: Herb seeds/Cabbage seedsSpeed: MediumInstructions: plant cabbage (as they are low cost seeds) and your herb seeds, after a stone set is collected in another skill, do your rounds of farming... you will have your rocks before the rest of the statue is finished (alternate per "12pure34") I'd advice potatoe / onion if you are looking for the rocks FAST! (20 minutes or so for them to grow). Sweetcorn otherwise. Ofcourse herbs, whichever you want to grow. Herblore:Items: Unfinished pots/SecondsSpeed: Slow-fast (depending on what you spend) (can be expensive)Instructions: It is best to buy unfinished pots, though it can be expensive... but it can be faster I use super def pots or range pots or sara brews (93 slay helps with ice strykes) and complete the pots, if you do not want so spend the money on unifnished pots, its going to take longer as you will have to make the unifnished pots and the full pots... Thievery:Items: gloves of silenceSpeed: FastLocation: DranorInstructions: as with many, preference: I use master farmer Smithing:Items: Bronze bars/Gold ore (with goldsmith gaunts)Speed: FastLocation: port plast (if quest done) or edge (if varrock armor done) or fally/al kharidInstructions: keep one space open Runecrafting:Items: any pouches you have and abyssal follower would be helpful...Speed: Slow-MediumLocation: depending on which alter your going to, consult your local tip.it rc guide for fastest routesInstructions: as per the post below, the new rules follow per essance not per action so rc as you normally would :) Woodcutting:Items: HatchetSpeed: FastLocation: various places around rs or dranorInstructions: Chop ivy or oak/willow Mining: Items: pickaxeSpeed: FastLocation: various places throughout runescapeInstrucitons: mine copper or tin (for speed) drop items mined The instructions here are for speed and cost... taking both into consideration. eatch statue takes me around 6 hours of work...These are hopefully enough to get yall started... I am on my quest to be the first to complete all 30 statues, and i will try to get yall pictures as i go along, Thursday I will have my 4th statue completed... working on the rocks now =) enjoy and thank you Goals/Status 99 all combat/ 99 str, att, hp, range85 herblore/ 81 herbloreRed Phat/ working on herblore2,000 total lvl/ 2,001 total lvl 30 Statues/ 4 Statues

Jehosaphat
Your details for rc are now inefficient - Jagex changed the rc stone to appear per ess, not per craft. So if you want a rc stone, just rc like any normal person would.

12pure34
Well, I could give you a few tips myself: First off: Construction:You need to be in normal mode, inside your house. Woodcutting:Cutting oaks / willows is a faster way to gather rocks as you get a chance each time you cut a log. Oaks cut the fastest ;) so this would be faster then Ivy. Also --> Draynor Willow Trees has a bank AND master farmer. You can combine these easily there. Thieving: add Ardougne Cape 3 as useful item. Fishing: Monkfish seem to be the fastest method to gather the rocks. Often hear 2 rocks in the first inventory or at least within 3 inventories. Cooking: Cooking guild with varrock armour 3 or the Rogues Den is the fastest place to cook ofcourse. Often requires 500-1k fish till you get both rocks. So going to either of these places is great. Farming: NEVER EVER EVER! go for cabbage seeds. Not because they are so horribly expensive.. they cannot be noted when picked! Which is a pain. I'd advice potatoe / onion if you are looking for the rocks FAST! (20 minutes or so for them to grow). Sweetcorn otherwise. Ofcourse herbs, whichever you want to grow. What I am personally a big fan off:Smithing/crafting --> Goldsmithing gauntlets (Family Crest quest) and melt all the ores into bars. Bring an amulet mould with you and immediatly make amulets out of them. Both smithing and crafting is done by this. Good luck on it ;)

Good luck on it ;) I do like the construction, the monkfish is for more experienced fishers and is a good idea, with me i perfer the net fishing, cause its pretty fast and 2 inventories is the max ive needed for both rocks... With the farming, potatoes I have not found that they yield as many which is why i will just drop them... however im not in the business of recouping my money as i just drop them or make compost out of them so while yours is not for me others will probably agree with you =) With crafting/smithing... this past statue took over 700 actions for me to get the crafting and 500 actions to get the smithing... which is why I use the hard leather, it crafts the fastestt and the full inv of gold ore it will give you the most chances... if you do the ammy method your not only cutting your chances in half each trip. you are also taking out the chance for the spot where the mould has to go... If i am wrong tell me, and thank you for your feedback =) Goals/Status 99 all combat/ 99 str, att, hp, range85 herblore/ 81 herbloreRed Phat/ working on herblore2,000 total lvl/ 2,001 total lvl 30 Statues/ 4 Statues
lcchs
the only place you cannot note cabbages is with the leprechaun near the cabbage patch.
12pure34
the only place you cannot note cabbages is with the leprechaun near the cabbage patch. This is what I ment. That means, when harvesting you either need to fill your inventory with sacks or eat/drop all the cabbages. You can turn them into compost ;) but anything other then super compost is a waste to most.Using either potatoes or cabbage or watermelons doesn't make a difference tough. Like you stated: higher level things don't make a difference. As for the big net thing you said, you are probably completely right. It should be actually faster the way you do it. I don't see why you are cutting your chances in half? You just spend your time doing 2 things. Crafting hard-leather bodies costs money, while making gold amulets out of gold bars is about breaking even. The only cost will be Gold Ore to Gold Bar. If you don't want this, just buy bars and use it for crafting stones.(26 gold ore / bars + 1 mould, if you don't have the inventory space, you will lose 1 gold ore/bar in order to get the strange rock. Doesn't / shouldn't affect your chance to get it.) Also, smelting iron ore into bars is profitable and with recent update, you will make profit from this. Useful for those interested in not losing money! Same goes for cannonballs, tough this is a slow and painful process hehe. Perhaps useful, http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/PotionsThat link can be used in order to determine the cheapest pot to make. Also for firemaking, willows are the cheapest. Maples are more popular to use tough. (since most have an overkill of these banked anyway). Don't make people burn oaks or normal logs, since these are quite costly and low experience compared to willow/maple. Many places are great for this, including Grand Exchange and/or Falador east bank. There is a theory about switching between skills after getting the first rock. Apparently it ups the chances if you switch between skills after getting one. Example, woodcut till you get the 1st WC rock. Then thieve till you get that one. The chance for the second WC rock resets and when you go back to woodcutting, your 2nd rock will come faster. There is a theory about this one in the General Discussion thread about Strange rocks. mfuge20
I was mistaken about the crafting, I thought you were talking about bringing gems with you... for a lot of people that would probably work, when I get back home ill update the guide later today... the farming thing is interesting... I may have to try that, though at the same time it usually takes maybe 3 trips around the patches to get the rocks, and the herbs help me out... one of the reasons im so adamant about doing the statues, is because ive needed a reason to get my stats up. Larinro
Nice guide! one thing though for smithing you do not need to have one space open, i was smithing gold and a message apeared saying one of your gold bars has disapeared adn been replaced with a rock or something like that, keep it up!
