does the protect from prayers drain more than the deflects?

or the other way around

Umm...Drain? I'm assuming you mean "Protect you from". Yes, they're exactly the same, so curses would be better.

no by drain the OP means how fast your prayer points go down when using the prayer, such as would ur prayer points go down faster with protect melee or deflect melee.

 

OT: From my own person opinion and experience Deflect prayers seem to drain slightly faster but its not a very noticable diffrence.

Actually, both the deflect and protect curses/prayers drain at a rate of 1 point per 3 seconds. However, curses drain slower when comparing "Turmoil" to "Piety".

The deflect prayers drain at the exact same rate as the protect with the slight bonus of doing a bit of damage once in a while. If you prefer to have boosts then prayers are better at lower prayer levels though, curses only really get really good at fairly high prayer.
