3PointMan
Is it really that big of a difference? I plan on getting 92 next month but I want to know if its worth my time, or if I should raise money for other stuffs/99's instead. tl;dr : Are extremes really that much better than supers? http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt206/samtheninja/Tags/FEARLESStag.jpg http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy156/song4thedeaf/stuff.png what i'm doing now: https://linktr.ee/student1
Obtaurian
Yes. From what I understand, it's better to be able to use extremes than it is to have 95 prayer, if that means anything to you. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
bedman
Yes. Flashable soul split is a godsent for any slayer task. I never need food now. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!

I'd say the exact opposite is true. The only really revolutionary extreme pots are super antifires and overloads; the others are only incrementally better than the regular versions. But Soul Split and Turmoil are incredibly useful. tortilliachp
herblore is free. you just have to use the right techniques (and you're better off checking it out for yourself and learning something along the way:)) I repot before supers run completely out. Repotting similarly with extremes, i save money, and get better stats. it is definately worth it.
qeltar
Herblore is not free. Even if you collect the herbs yourself, you are giving up the money you could have earned by selling the herbs. Saying Herblore is free would be like saying that if you work 40 hours a week in exchange for not cash but items, that the items are free. pgmr185
Saying Herblore is free would be like saying that if you work 40 hours a week in exchange for not cash but items, that the items are free. I've read countless discussions about "opportunity cost" and the like, but this is probably the best example that I've come across that explains why the "if I gather it myself, then it's free" way of thinking is totally wrong. As to the original question, I just recently got 90 herblore and 92 prayer. With healing familiars I rarely have a need to use soul split, but I use extreme strength and attack on nearly every slayer task. Honestly though, neither is probably as game changing as you think that it's going to be. Maybe for boss monsters or PvP having higher prayer will come out ahead, but I don't actually do much of that so I can't really say.

Ever thought about not bringing your healing familiar, but bringing another familiar (combat familiar if multi, bob for banking drops, forager for 80k extra an hour) and making more out of your task? You can easily flash soul split, so no extra prayer consumed. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!
Bladewing
I'd get 95 prayer too. Even though I like training herblore more. But if you don't plan on turmoiling (although you should), get extremes cause you'll actually use them.
