No reason to not use turmoil.

Using Turmoil or flash praying requires attention. Attention requires energy. So you get exhausted mentally. So best thing to do is lay back and just kill without Turmoil. If you do with Turmoil and you don't pay well attention most of time>waste of prayer points.

depending on gear, it only costs 100k-200k gp/hour to turmoil endlessly.

Definitely worth turmoiling, even if you don't bother with flashing.

I piety pray melee and have my stats 120 + every kill. Trips last exactly 40 minutes.

To be honest, I wouldn't do it without a pack yak. A friend of mine has spent the last two and a half years or so killing miths everyday, looking for a DFH. He has yet to get one as far as I know. But yeah, I think you should get a pack yak before you do it. That way you'll make a lot more money.

 

You could also kill steel dragons at Ghorrock with a pack yak, collecting the bones and steel bars and banking everything. It's fast to bank.
