Bannanajoe3
I heard that when carpentry comes out, people will be able to own their own stores. Is that true? If so how will the 12000 or so people on runescape have enough space to own their own shops? I also heard that people will be able to price their own items. That doesn't sound too good for new players. they could get scammed. and will this be for members only?anyway please post replys to answer my question. Bannanajoe3 yes i know i spelled banana wrong (thanks gwen stifini !!) thanks
HatshepsutLecter
I don't think that Jagax is going to do it so that each person can have their own shop. It would be too hard on their servers if every person that plays the game now started their own shop. The only thing I have heard mentioned is that players would be able to build their own house. But that can't just be it. I am anxious to see what they are going to do with the skill when it comes out. And the skill would definately be p2p only. I don't see Jagax adding anymore f2p stuff anytime soon..... Suzanne_Vega
It would be kinda cool if you could set up a "shop" (or more like a vending machine) where you could stick your junk...err....extra stuff and set a price, and even if you were logged off people could come and buy your stuff. Then you could post a message here saying "ok I got these things for sale at these prices, at stall 17 in Lumbridge on world 23." Suzanne Vegatokin rite wurx gud! Redizhot
Actually, something like that could be accomplished with a sort of "message board" in markets or banks or something, where, you could suspend items of your bank onto the board, where you would post a small bit of text, price you want to sell it for, and perhaps after it sells, you could either collect the money from the bulletin board, or from the bankers. The board itself could be organized into categories the way the official forums are. Perhaps buying could be accomplished in the same manner, you post a buying price, and that amount of GP is suspended from your account, until you take the notice down or until someone sells the item to you. I think if done well, it could work, although, it might replace some markets on the forums...but also eliminate some of the annoyingness of places like W2 Falador Park. melikerunescape
I was thinking about this idea as well only with a different twist. Instead of stores I think jagex should include player owned stalls or POS. It could probably go along with the possible carpentry skill where you build your own stall using the skill. In these stalls you can put your junk up for sale that you would normally have a hard time selling manually to players and possibly end up selling to stores. All the prices would be based on what npc stores would sell the items for. that way you make more money with a stall then by selling to stores because as u know, stores buy for alot less than they sell for. I believe if u gave the price option to the player it would become a hastle because you would have to input all the prices for every single thing you want to sell. Also some players might put really stupidly high prices for items. Finally I think the player should be able to input what type of stall it is. ex: general stall, food stall, armour stall, weapon stall; u get the point. that way other players will of course know what your trying to sell. About the problem with players and to many stores causing server overload problems: The solution is to make the stalls a sort of rent process: you pay a small amount for say 20 min worth of selling, or u pay more for say 30 min worth of selling. once the time is up all the money u made and the unsolled items automatically go back in ur bank. then the stall area is free for another player to rent for a short time. This could be a really good resource for both the stall owners and the buyers. Stall owners could be making money while they're doin other things, and could be able to get rid of some junk; and buyers could buy items that might be difficult to obtain through normal means. srry my post is so long.
