Monkey Madness Fix

While doing monkey madness, chapter 2, I couldn't for the life of me find what was meant by the "big house with the trapdoor in the middle" without using a guide on different site (and I'd rather stay at tip.it, because you guys are the best)

My confusion came from the fact that I didn't think that house was very big at all and the only mention of a trapdoor is in the temple which appeared to be a "big house" to me.

 

Perhaps some better wording:

Head west to the shed with crates and a trapdoor in the center (Pink path on map).

 

And definitely a modification to the map:

Hi Squalling.

 

The Quest guide states that the house is to the west already, and it shows you the route. Why would you look at north instead?

 

 

 

Stay in the tall grass as much as possible to avoid recapture. You must stay out of the line-of-sight of the Monkey archers all through the town. Move east and run south and then east past the temple (big building to the northeast with an altar - you cannot run around the north edge). You should find yourself southeast of the temple and north of the sergeant of the 10th squad, Garkor.

 

Talk to Garkor and he will ask you to go and see the mage of the squad.

 

This next part is tricky as there is some open space to cross where the archers might spot you, sending you to jail again. Also, the large gorillas guarding this building cannot be walked through, so your character will delay too long if you click past them. Be sure to turn on "run", click only straight line unblocked paths until you pass the gorillas on your way west, and try to move to grass spots for cover.

 

Head west to the big house with the trapdoor in the middle. Go in through the back door (south side). Do NOT step in the centre area (a different colour floor) and AVOID THE TRAP DOOR! If you go near it you will get jailed again. Stick to the walls of the house and search the crates inside. Be sure to click short distances to walk, in straight lines only, or the game may walk you out onto the middle of the floor.

I have to agree with Squalling on this one. It might seem clearly marked, but I recall using this guide twice (once for the quest, the second time to get a gregre because I had stupidly thrown away the other one and needed it for RFD). Anyway, both times, I was captured simply looking for the "big house." I don't think the guide is wrong in this case, just slightly unclear because of the use of the term "big" which is subjective. I would recommend changing the wording slightly as well. Just thought I throw in my support and opinion. Still, I would like to thank tip.it for everything, your guides are still the clearest 99% of the time and I always use your site when playing. Thanks for your hard work.

I changed the "big house" to just "house". The guide does say go west, so going north shouldn't have really been an option, and that hut is the only other place with a trapdoor. It also says to go through the south side, and the temple doesn't have a south entrance. Thanks for your submission, you've been credited.
