That stupid Chase the Ferret puzzle in Dungeoneering

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a surefire way to do this puzzle?

Personally I think it sucks. And no this is not the puzzle where you throw fish to move the ferret onto a pressure pad to open the door. I'm talking about the godawful puzzle with all the holes in the corners where you are somehow expected to catch a ferret.

Slayer Drops

Dragon Chainbody (dust devil), Dragon Platelegs x2, Dragon Plateskirt x3, Dragon Boots x38, Dragon Med Helm x5, Dragon Spear x3, Shield Left Half x4

Staff of Light x2, Abyssal Whip x16, Dark Bow x17, Granite Maul x17, Focus Sight, Hexcrest x2, Black Mask x4, Leaf-bladed Sword, Mystic x31, Obsidian x13, Brine Sabre x2, Spirit Shield, Dragonstone x5

Catch Vile Fish, cook them, then throw them onto tiles to maneuver the ferret. Don't throw them into holes, unless you know where the hole goes, as if you do, you may make it easier.

The OP specifically stated that he's not talking about the fish room.

To answer the question, I have no idea. I'm quite sure that it's glitched, actually. It always takes me five minutes to catch the ferret (always by some absurd amount of luck). If you leave the room, you have to catch the ferret again, but if you just chase it around for a couple minutes then spam click the door, it will let you through. Have you tried bind runes? I've been asking everyone to try it, but no one has.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

I had a hell of a time doing that as well, it depends on your hunter level. I'm not sure how I did it the first time though, you can try to chase it and catch it that way but if you fail, it will turn around and bite you for a decent amount of damage. I think, if you're lucky, you can stand on one of the holes it warps through and catch it if it comes out.

I've only encountered this room twice, the second time I didn't have the hunter req. for it.....

Keep trying I guess :S

I will have to try that next time I encounter that dastardly ferret >.<

you need to hide behind a wall where the ferret cant see you, and dash out and catch him

this doesn't work for all of the ferret's resting positions though, as some have too far a running distance from the nearest hiding spot

but this is essentially the only way in solo, w/o getting lucky.
