I'm currently slaying, training str for at least another few weeks, and wanted to choose the optimal weapon for my tasks:

 

I currently have Whip + Rune Defender (use for tasks that require a shield and such)

and Bandos Godsword (using to train strength ATM)

 

I have the cash to do it, but I'm not sure: should I buy a Saradomin Sword? I hear that it's more DPS than the Bandos GS?

I agree with this, it is generally accepted that godswords are horrible to train any stat with. The only things that godswords are good for are their specials or for pking (in the case of the AGS).

Godswords are also better as a primary weapon at Tormented Demons.

Godswords are only good if you REALLY need the extra accuracy, like at boss monsters. but for general training, whip or SS are the way to go.

Use a SS for str trainin. Where u need to use a shield use d scim or leaf bladed sword depending on monster stats.

Whip + Defender (or whip + Divine/other for solo/duo(maybe)) is better at Bandos, Zamorak, and Saradomin. The only place you should ever use a godsword is tormented demons and PvP.

OK, the consensus seems to be that the Sara Sword is better for Slayer Str training than the Bandos GS I'm currently using. That said, I'm going to buy it.
