April 18, 201016 yr Hi everyone, I've not played the game in 3 or so years....in the time, the mask set I owned rebounded in value, and I had left away a few dragon bones and cash that mean I can finally buy a green party hat now.(this was a predeparture dream of mine) But I have no experience using the grand exchange... And I'm wondering how people buy rares these days. Is the right way to go on tip.it and set up a post saying "buying green phat for mask set + cash" or do I go and sell the pieces individually, and go buy a green phat on GE? I'm really concerned because with GE you cant actually see if anyone is buying/selling So any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks people, -Kin
April 18, 201016 yr Don't bother trying to buy one on the GE you will have to be very very very lucky because the "street price" of most all rares are significantly higher than the GE price, so almost no one sells their rares on the GE. Best bet is to poke around world 2 and hope someone offers a green phat. Or you could also have a thread on tip.it, it couldn't hurt.
April 18, 201016 yr Quick Crash Couse:Junk = Items with a value but no one wants them, like maple longbows (u)Street Price = The value PLAYERS say an item is worth, which is much higher then what is on the GE They use "junk" as a booster for the "street price" because the GE Value is too low. so you use high end items like rares, 3rd Age etc as a bargaining chip to trade between rares etc. Its a little hard to explain, but for now you best hold onto your mask in case the street price is worth more then GE and read up on it around the forums. Ahhh...Hmm, I see. Thanks, that's actually essentially what I was trying to find out. When you see read up on it around the forums, do you mean runescape forums, tip,it forums, or are there any specialist sites? Thanks again
April 18, 201016 yr Posting on Runescape Official Forums is the best way to trade discontinueds. You will be lucky to get a purple partyhat with that, I'm afraid. Unless you have even more cash to purchase the other player's junk (read: unsellable in the GE), you will not get a partyhat. How to Chin Nechyraels for fast XP and profit

I was hoping not to spend my santa or not to spend all of my cash. Are the discontinued items street prices so far from their GE evaluation?

There's a great topic in general discussion that's about 130 pages + discussing this (it's bound to be on the front page). Every 4 pages or so people like you ask a question very similar to yours and someone always gives a good answer so read the most recent 5 or so pages and you'll have all the info you need. You'll also find out pretty accurate street values for all rares. give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever
April 18, 201016 yr You probably won't even get a purple for that, seriously. Sucks man, partyhats are insane now
