So basically, I haven't played Runescape for a few years, and I decided to come back as a member. I would like to know what type of armor is good out right now, weapons, and such things as that, I basically sold off all my stuff before I left and I have a nice bit of cash to buy stuff with.

 

I would just like to know WHAT stuff to buy, is full dragon still the best? I dont want any barrows because you have to fix it. I hate fixing items.

 

Bandos?

God swords?

Whats the best stuff out there and whats the price?

(Im not super rich, but i can buy a few things.)

Bandos in general is not as good as barrows, but if you really hate fixing things and want to blow 50mil on a set of armor then go ahead. Godswords are also not particularly helpful. Depending on you stats, you might want to try and get 95 pray, but im not sure how much money you have. If you tell us what kind of things you want to do, then you will get a better answer as to what you should be buying.

Well basically i have about 30mil in cash. I just wanna be able to go out and have some fun at the minigames and not get owned lol. Wanna be able to go "monster hunting" and not have to worry about basically getting owned. When i left i had full dragon without the full helm, a obby shield, a whip and other random dragon weapons, and a set of guthans. now i dont know what to get basically after being gone for so long.

In that case, dont get bandos, its a waste for your lvls, godswords are also out and also dclaws. Sooooo if you want to get the full dragon, but honestly you would be better off with barrows and the whip. get the rune defender if you haven't already because it is the best shield spot item for almost any situation (and is basically free) you might want to get a fury and brezerk/warrior ring. 70 pray is also nice for piety,

so which set of barrows? and how much do they cost? i think ill jus grab me a berserker ring and amulet of fury

persanol favroite for me is full guthans/whip guthans when ur low on hp and whip 4 atting wep but if u want the best def bonus then torags helm pl8 and legs are the best

Hey welcome back to Runescape, I recently came back as well so we're in the same boat!

You should post all of your stats, or just tell us your username so we can help you out a bit more.

What do you plan on doing? Combat and boss hunting?

If that's the case, I'd reccomend sticking to whip + defender and a barrows set (guthans should be fine).

Try out the new Dungeoneering skill and the new PvP worlds.

Melee Gear:

Helm: Neitznot or Black Mask/Slayer Helmet for slaying

Necklace: Fury > Glory

Cape: Fire Cape/SW Cape > Ardougne Cloak 3 > Trimmed Skillcape > Untrimmed Skillcape/Obsidian Cape

Torso: Torags/Dharok (which ever is cheaper) > Fighter's Torso (unless you enjoy Barb Assault or you have a torso)

Legs: Torags/Dharok (which ever is cheaper)/Verac's Skirt (if you use prayer any, which you should)

Boots: Dragon Boots

Gloves: Barrow Gloves > Dragon > Rune > Addy > Combat Bracelet

Ring: Beserker Ring > Warrior Ring

i already have a fury in bank, cape is iffy, prolly gonna have to get obby cape

why get torags or dharok > guthans?

how do you get the barrows/dragon gloves?

i did some research, apparently warrior ring is secretly better then berserker.

i have rune defender, so all i need is a whip

Your argument against barrows is weak, imo, granted i felt the same back in the day. 4 years ago when i quit for the first and only time, i could afford barrows, but never used it because i was too afraid of dying with it or repairing it. All i use these days is barrows. The reparation cost is very low, especially with a POH. Its cheap armour, its strong, and you can last for like 14 hours of combat without repairing it. 14 hours is a long time, and the cost is less than 100k for me. idk about you, but i make upwards of 800k an hour, so i could repair over 4.5 days worth of straight combat with only 1 hour worth of moneymaking as the cost. I use a verac skirt and dh top usually. The skirt has very good def and gives a prayer bonus, while the top is just as strong as the others (excluding a brassy). A whip, fury, zerker, full slayer helm, dragon boots, barrows gloves, soulwars/fire/skill capes are the best capes to use. Just go slaying and you will see what most people wear. Chances are, the most common outfit is what i am speaking of, and is common because it is cheap and extremely good. I would recommend it over bandos any day. TBH, bandos is overrated. Its too expensive for its stats. Barrows has better def, and only lacks a couple str bonus points, which might make you hit 10 lifepoints less.

The gloves come from Recipie for Disaster, its a quests with multiple subquests to complete in it. If you're going to use the Guthans set to heal, then its better, but for just defense torags/dharoks is best for the legs, guthans has the same platebody stats. As for the warrior/beserker ring. I say the beserker is still better, i saw the comparison but i'm with those saying that beserker is still better.
