April 25, 201016 yr Gorgonite is tier 9, right? I'd take the spear. The spears in dungeons are so versatile and powerful. Get it bound and poisoned as soon as possible.
April 25, 201016 yr Spear has all fight styles. Maul doesn't. If you're not hybridding extensively you should want the most versatile weapon you can get your hands on, IMO.
April 25, 201016 yr Author well, due to lack of impatience for an answer (just wanted to get the dungeon done) and extensive testing (3 monsters) with both weapons, I've decided to keep my Maul until I somehow get my hands on a Promethium spear instead. April 25, 201016 yr Author the thing is though, the Promethium maul is a tier higher then Gorgonite, and so many bosses seem weak to crush anyways. If I ever find a Promethium Spear, I'll bind that without question for sure. I was just so hesitant to do it with Gorgonite since Tier-wise, I had a better weapon. I'll probably re-think it if I ever come across another gorgonite spear. But for now, I'm not disappointed with with my Maul.
