takenote61
I happend to be heading toward the gold mining spot in NW Karamja, and noticed a star had fallen. What luck - and no one was around. It was only a level two, so I just started whacking away. It poofed from 2 to 1, and I was steadily making progress. I got my 200 startdust and kept going. Then an odd thing happened. Before I was done, the whole thing just disappeared. Is there a time limit for these things? What do I do with the 200 startdust? Thanks~
Sy_Accursed
Yes there is a timelimit on them. Any stars not "tubbied" disappear something like an hour or so before the next wave comes. Bank the dust til you find a tubbied star to trade it in at. Thus, once the next star falls, the previous one disappears. ~It's Super Effective! Solartide
i remember when the stars just came out, and a bunch of low levels including me was trying to mine a level 7 star deep in the wilderness. There were only 3 of us, and revenants kept coming so we had to run away periodically. At long last the star was at level 1 and we could taste our reward. Then it disappeared. lordkafei
Back when I was doing these, the advent of a new star meant the disappearance of the old one, whether finished or not. I am rather sure there was no buffer time in between. There can be only one. The noticeboard in the observatory tells you when it crashed. The time it has left can be approximated using the telescope in your POH.
Zaaps1
You could, technically, also use the observatory to find out when the last star got spotted. ~It's Super Effective!
